Adding micro USB charging - question if you please.

Hello, Im considering adding one of the evlov micro USB charging gadgets to a Vmod.
It's all mech, no on/off switch, based on the stated size of the evolve, it looks like it will fit nicely.

I found a 18650 2600ma Li-Ion with pre installed battery leads that looks like it would make wire attachments quite easy.



My question is this ; can I simply mount the evolv micro USB unit in the device & attach the + & - leads off the battery to the coresponding + & - locations on the chip for proper charging ?



I'd use some sort of small removable male / female attachments so the Battery can be removed occasionally.
Are there any safety issues I need to be aware of ?
I believe the evolve chip does all the work with regard to charging cut-off & so forth..

Thanks but both the doc & vid are considerably over my head. Information overload ( no pun intended )
I do appreciate the response though.
Just trying to determine :
1 - will it work
2 - is it safe
I'm hoping someone has done this before with an all mechanical device & can relate their results.

As long as you can verify the leads (with a Voltmeter) as in what is positive coming out of the charging circuit and which is Ground

Usually its Red wire positive and black wire ground (negative).
I've prepared a rough sketch on how to wire it.



Also if your thinking of making it a pass through you may need an extra circuit.
