Adding nicotine only after steep...??

Hello!
I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge and or experience regarding adding my nicotine to a recipie only after it finished steeping.. Id rather make one bottle and add the nic % i prefer when i prefer...
Does anyone know if thats ok to do?
What are the cons if any?
Id appreciate the help...

It is something that you could try, however it would interfere with the recipe ratios that normally include the nic concentrate, Pg, Vg, and flavoring agents.

Since TFA Strawberry stays colorless as a flavoring for years and years but turns bright yellow after a week being mixed with nicotine and VG, and since flavorings are made with PG and VG, I'm betting the steeping process has to do with nicotine and oxidation interacting with the flavorings.

Just my guess. It will be an interesting experiment. I don't know if I ever mixed TFA strawberry or another drastic color change flavor when I was doing 0mg.

Gosh, IDK I kind of assume that flavoring outfits that make their own flavor in house do just that, if they are willing to adjust nicotine ratios for juice, they add it to steeped flavor and base, whatever that is. Now, whether there is some sort of "nicotine" ceiling, where say all juice is made with 3 nic and more nic is added to the base flavor, I'm not sure.

Depending on how precise you need to be, I guess it would depend on how much you are diluting your pre-nic base flavoring as you'd be decreasing the flavoring by at least SOME, but how much I'm not sure.

I would think steeping at least some nic in there might result in a smoother mix and some amount of chemical change to the eliquid, but how much, and how much effect it would have I have no idea.

But I can't imagine that B&M that "make their own juices" are premixing some at every single possible nicotine strength either, although for all I know, that is what happens. I have no idea I don't work in one.

But if that's what you want to do, there's no real reason not to try it that way and well see how it affects or doesn't affect your results?

I think mine does. They couldn't make me special max VG or even tell me how much PG flavoring % was. You get what they have (or had, not sure what they're doing with the FDA crap).

It will also depend a lot on what nic strength you want to end up with and what nic strength your base is.

For instance if you have 100mg/ml nic base and are targeting 6mg/ml then you will only be adding 0.6ml of base per 10 ml of steeped flavored juice. I doubt you would even notice the difference in flavor dilution.

If however, you were trying to hit a 20+% nic strength or were using a lower nic base (say 24mg/ml base) then you would be adding a lot more liquid and the dilution would be more noticeable.

If you are using 100mg base I dont think it will change the flavors noticeably.
