I picked up this adjustable regulator with digital read out. This thing works great. I hooked a couple 18650 batteries to it and I'm impressed. It's to big for a mod but I'm making an adjustable power supply and put it on my belt. I couldn't wait untill I got it done so I have been using my usb passthrough on it and loving it. Plus it will take a power input from 6 to 30 volt and has a usb out port on it. I got it from All battery and it's made by Tenergy. Here is a link if your interested.

Cool, how big is it? I've been thinking of doing something like a portable power supply with some big batts, if I can ever get some free time at home (I'm always on the road, and it's like a mad scramble when I get home). I'm hoping a project like that will be simple enough that even a tard like me could figure it out. I should probably stick with 3.7 volts for my first mod attempt, though. Fewer potential screwups.

EDIT: Dimensions: 2.2 x 3.6 x 1.2 Inch

As soon as I posted, I realized I could just look for myself, derp!

This thing would almost fit in an Altoid tin.

Almost but you would need another one for the batteries. It sure does work good though. It doesn't fluctuate more than 0.01 volt under a load either.

Update: I went to the second hand store to find a box the size I'll need for this project and found a gamecube power supply that had a box a little bigger than what I needed. I was about to open it to clear it out when I noticed it was 12v 3a and thought what the heck I might as well put the 2 togather and use it to power my passthrough. It works so good. My passthrough now goes from 1.2 volts to 11.9 volts with readout on volts and amps being drawn. It took all of 2 min. to put together. Now when I'm sitting at home I can give my Buzz and the batteries some rest and still have adjustable voltage. The whole package was less than $35.00.

That's a great find! I found coupon on the web for 15% off.
I use a 3A power brick form one of my retired LCD. The jack fits perfectly. This thing is amazing with variable usb power output! Not only it lets you adjust the output voltage, it also shows you the amp your atty is drawing. I can now dial in the sweet spots of all my attys and cartos! Thanks 5card!!

My last update. The Tenergy Universal DC-DC Converter and Voltage Stablizer--Any Voltage Control quit working and they had me send it back for an exchange then after they got it they told me it's discontinued. I looked everywhere and they are gone. I really liked that thing too. Oh well they gave back the cost so I'm out the 13 or more shipping charges. Pretty good as it only costs $2.90 to ship it. More salt in the wound. No more All Battery for me.

Hi guys, I just picked up one of these tenergy dc/dc boards from another member, currently using a 12v ac/dc molex connector ac/dc psu the sort one uses to power hard drives, optical drives etc....output is 5v=2A. 12V=2A...am running of the 12v side.

Seems maybe the amps are a bit low? 808 5v PT, fresh 901 atty @ tenergy set to 4.8 I get 4.6v/1.05A, when vaping, not sure but seems the amperage is a bit low..maybe s/b like 1.8 something?

If I am correct what dc psu amp output rating should I look for? I probably will never vape above 6v or so.

Thanks so much in advance

12volt 2 amp should be more then enough. when bucking or regulating it down the amps will grow. 12volts 2 amp bucked down to 6 volts would be 4 amps minus what your losing in efficiency. Not sure what these are rated at for efficiency but say it is 90% then you should have a available 3.6 amps for vaping. Really you need to measure how many ohms the atomizer is to see what the amp draw should be at any given voltage. My guess is that your plugged into the usb port on the card. It is protected to 1amp. IF you can tap into the gray and orange push button outputs right next to the USB they are not current limited. I wouldnt advise it but if you want i will tell you how to bypass the current protection on the USB so you can get full amps out of it.

Your welcome prole

If you look at the picture posted right behind the usb port is a blue disk ( PTC fuse ). Thats what limits the USB to 1 amp. I just took a piece of wire and wrapped it around both legs of the blue disk. That will effectively bypass the current protection. Wont be a big deal for vaping but if you use the card to charge USB devices you might want to take the bypass wire off.
