Admins, could we please have a section dedicated to schematics?

I don't know about others here, but I think it would be very helpful for the tinkerers here amongst us if there were a section on this forum dedicated to drawings and schematics of the different models, parts and accessories.

If there's going to be a ban and we're forced into the shadows feverishly building these in our garages, it might serve some good.
Knowledge is power.

What do ya say?

That would be good for us that can follow directions. The mods are always getting lost in the chat. Need a place to keep stuff away form chatting . I gave up on the recipe only thread.

JEEZ, kinabaloo!
Over 1,500 posts here?!?! I'm feeling like such a noob.
(Takes a power hit from 901)
AHHH! That's better.

Anyhoo, exactly. Divide the section by model, part, etc. If I want to know how a 901 cart looks like because I have an idea how to better the thing, I could go there and learn what'll work and what won't.

I agree. I actually own/admin a forum (totally unrelated to ecigs) and this place is insanely huge. So many subforums that its borderline a complete mess. I'm not flaming here, I love this place but it causes a ton of frustration when I can't find something because of the massive amount of subforums. We as a community really need more mods. Every subforum should have an active mod or five.

Well, my job allows me to be available four days in a row after working four.
But would these good folks be comfortable with a guy calling himself Randall Flagg as a moderator here?

Pretty much every thread here is either buried in chatter or nth degree of repeat questions. And any thread with new or interesting information disappears in four hours, since it's buried 6 or 7 pages back already. (speaking generally here, not necessarily the MOD section which is thankfully not nearly as clogged up)

Sadly, it's getting to be a chore trudging through 12-16 pages twice a day when you hit "new posts".

The only way to "clean it up" is

1- by adding a bunch more mods, deleting useless offtopic stuff and joining duplicate threads (won't ever happen here, it's not SJ's style)

2- having a FAQ, and an army of those hated people who endlessly post "READ THE FAQ" "USE THE SEARCH"

3- prevent people from posting anywhere but the newbie section until they've been a member for a month, and a probationary period of another month - where they are presented on login with a splash page with the FAQ, and a big fat SEARCH box at the end.

I don't know how many of you have noticed, but well over 1/2 of the core posters, long time members, and major reviewers from only a few months ago are gone, or now silent. Probably bored with the same questions over and over and over, and the same "discoveries" over and over and over.

Maybe an alternative would be a "pro" section, where you can't go until you've been a member for 3 months?

I don't know what the answer is...

Though I understand the idea of moulding the foums into line, I couldn't agree with that approach. If posts start moving arund even more than now (occasionally), getting joined and threads deleted and incessant mod intervention with inevitable mod 'bias' (not people bias, ideas bias; no two people have quite the same vews, even about practical things). So let's leave the bulk of the forums as they are but have a Rsources thread for putting / linking to important diagrams, photos etc.

I have called for the creation of a beginners FAQ befor, a text verson of Spikey's video, in Q & A style.

In short I'd like to see the forums continue as now but with a special thread for copying to useful info and a beginners FAQ.
