Hello!

I want to start vaping, after a few years of smoking ciggarets.

I preffer a device that looks like a regular ciggaret, so i ordered an e-cig from V2.

Nevertheless, i wanted to get premium e-juice, in order to get great flavour while vaping, so i thought about ordering blank cartridges and filling it with e-juice, like "Blaco Note", that got great reviews online.

what do you think? is my way reasonable or that you would advice me to somthing else? and where can i get good blanks?

thanks!

I would recommend AGAINST starting with an eCig that looks like a cigarette unless you get a dozen of them. Most of those are only 450-650 mah (milliamp hours) you will only be able to vape 2-3 hours tops.

I suggest a box mod that has 2200-4000 mah of power.

I started out with those stupid little batteries. Worst mistake i ever made

Then get an Atty to go on tge box mod. Lime the Nautilus Mini.

I woukd Like to recommend an RTA such as Kayfun lite plus V2, the Taifun GT-II but those are RTA (Rebuildable Tank Atomizers) but that woukd be throwing you in the deep end because yoy would have to wrap your coils and wick them. So a good compromise woukd be the Subtank Mini by Kanger.

There are different coil heads you can use on it. 1.5 ohm for Mouth to Lung like a cigarette. .5 ohm for direct lung vaping, and comes with bsn RBA where you can practice rebuilding.

As per TwoBears, I also tend to recommend going with an actual decent kit, I also recommend mods that have replaceable batteries (18650) as any sealed mod/batteries, once the battery is dead, it's a paperweight.

Tank wise, I always recommend one from the Atlantis coil family as this provides you with dozens of cross-compatible coils, so tanks like the Eleaf Melo (2 or 3), the Aspire Triton, the Freemax Scylla are excellent choices, plus the fact that these coils are actually easy to rebuild.

If you do insist with sticking with the cylinder types, there's a few out there that are much better, such as the iJust 2, where you can get the kit (the iJust tank is another of the same coil cartridge family) or just the battery and use other tanks.

Very few people end up staying with the small cigarette types, as overall, they aren't very good compared to what's available now. Note that those tend to break down quite fast and easily. They might seem like a good first step, but many don't get the "satisfaction" needed from these types as they really are very limited.

If there is a good local store that you can get more information, see what's available, and even get to try some testers, you'll get a better idea.

But anything that stops you from smoking is still a good thing regardless.

Hi Nate. Welcome to the ECF.

Many people have been able to Quit Smoking using a Cig-a-Like. Myself included. So I'm not going to tell you that Trying a Cig-a-Like is a waste.

A lot depends on How Much you Smoke right now.

But that being said, I would say you Chances of Quitting Smoking will be Much Greater with a Variable Wattage (VW) Device and a more Modern Tank System.

Maybe something like this...

Eleaf iStick Power Melo 3 Nano Kit

As for premium juice... Premium is just a meaningless word that you will most likely find slapped on just about every bottle of juice that you find. I make my own juice so I can't really help you there.

You won't find much love here for the Cigalikes. But if you're interested in something really tiny and simple.... no buttons.... no settings... no blanks to bother with. Just fill and vape. Very inexpensive AND EFFECTIVE ! I have 4 of them and all my other mods and tanks have been stuffed in a drawer.

Nice to see some feedback on these as they are fairly new!

Agree completely on replaceable 18650 batteries. I have used and recommend Samsung 25R, and LG HG2 batteeies.

Have heard wonderful reports of Sony VTC, ABD Samsung 30Q batteries.
I would recommend he start with the istick Pico, or eVic VTC Mini. I have two of each. They fire 1-75 watts. Great mods.

Most cigalikes have to fire at 1.8-2.5 ohms to have any battery life at all.

If you are trying to get off cigarettes you want two Atomizers.

1. With a nicotine level to curb the cravings during the day.

2. Another with a higher nicotine level for those times you gotta have a cigarette such as with coffee in tge morning and after a meal.

Been vaping almost 5 years. Making my eJuice i gradually lowered the nicotine levels from 18 mg to 0mg December 28th 2015.

I still vape 0 mg nicotine ejuice.

we all have favourites... mine is kanger and the v2... definitely not.

these can be found online cheaper, I just like to use the manufacturer website.
very basic starters of better quality:
Kanger SUBVOD-C Starter kit if you do direct to lung inhales.
Kanger EVOD PRO V2 Starter kit for if you inhale to your mouth and then to your lungs.

now if you want to get something that's going to last, easier to fill and also rebuildable for the future(you can do it either way as well, I'm DtL my hubby is MtL and we both use these, we have quit smoking):
Kanger TOPBOX Mini Starter kit (Not Included battery)

like most of the rest, I advocate external battery

I quit smoking with cig-a-likes 4+ years ago. Yes, I used blanks and refilled them. However, if I had it all to do over again, I would at least do an ego-sized battery with 510 threading and refillable tanks. So many more options with that route. If you can possibly go bigger you should do that.

Welcome and glad you joined. Sounds like a good plan and very reasonable. I find it its best to start simple and learn vaping then go to more advanced equipment.

The Joyetech Ego AOI got me to quit smoking but I quickly made two upgrades after that, first to an internal battery Eleaf nano (no battery life!) to a removable 18650 battery Eleaf Pico. My husband uses the Joyetech now and it has reduced his cigarette consumption - he's not as motivated as I was to quit though. I think it's important to note that if something doesn't work to not throw vaping completely out the window, just keep trying to find what works. There are so many options and probably you can find something that works great for you. Now if only I can get the Pico unbricked...
