Hey all, been vaping a couple weeks now. I'm currently using a Blu Premium100(I know the consensus of them around here ) But, so far I'm fairly satisfied, as it is discrete and convenient. That being said, I'm not planning on purchasing any more of Blu's prefilled cartos; I would prefer to refill my own, or start to drip with an atomizer. Thus bringing me(us?) to my question(s).

What I need: Everything to be compatible with Blu Premium 100 Batts. From everything I've read, I just need regular 510 accessories(Can anyone confirm?). I would like some cartomizers, as they are the most convenient for vaping away from home. A couple of good attys for dripping at home, and maybe to be occasionally used with a cart.

So, I'm looking at making my first purchase this weekend for: E-Liquids, Carts, Cartos, and a few atomizers. I was hoping for some advise on what and where to purchase.

Liquid(s): I've been looking at getting the Johnson Creek Sampler (Maybe the "Welcome to E-Smoking Kit" for the few extra tools). I am also considering a sampler from BlueMist vaping. Thus far I have only vaped pure PG, so I was thinking of getting Johnson Creeks pure PG liquids, as I don't know what I'm getting into with VG(Any advise here for someone who hasn't tried VG?) I've also read pure VG can clog Cartos rather quick, so I figured it would be best to opt for the Pure VG from Johnson Creek, and a 80PG/20VG Mix from BlueMist. Once again, advice/opinions are welcome.

Carts, Cartos, and Attys: Here is where I need the most help, as Liquid is mostly up to preference. I've mainly been looking at AltSmoke.com, mainly for the reason that a friend has a "Yeti" from AltSmoke, so I know the Attys are compatible. But, I am open to suggestions. I know that the cartos/attys need to be between 2-3 ohms, as the LR ones need a more powerful battery. I really don't know much in this area, so if anyone could go into some depth it would be most appreciated.

TL;DR: Noob with a Blu need some good cartos/attys/liquids! Throw down some learnin! :vapor:

Thanks in advance!

Dormouse can probably help you with this. I think I remember her saying that it's a 510 but reverse polarity- meaning you can't charge the Blu batteries on another 510 charger. Or if you buy other 510 batteries, they can't be charged on your blu charger.

You have to use standard resistance cartomizers/attys. I believe 2.5 or over. It's not easy to find 2.5 (Ikenvape has them but they're out) so something like boge 3.0 cartomizers should work.

I'm only a week into vaping so I don't have much to offer but I'm curious as to why you're not sticking with the brand you mentioned? Is it the price or is the general consensus around here that it's not a good product? I'm curious because I'm subscribed to their newsletter but haven't tried them yet (but am considering doing so).

They're a little expensive for what they are. You can get a basic 510 kit with a pcc some places for about $40. But if you're happy with it and it gets you off cigs, it's worth it. Even if it got you here and got you vaping, it's money well spent.

I have read many places it cheaper to refill yourself, which is my main reasoning. That being said, I'm not completey satisfied with Blu's prefilled carts. I want a little more Nicotine, and Blu only offers 16mg max, I would like to try 18 or 24mg. I also feel there is some inconsistency with the amount of liquid put in the carts(could be my imagination), as some carts will last 2 days, and others seem to last a number of hours instead.

I also like the idea of being able to drip on an atty and use different flavors(blu only has 5 or 6).

So far though, I'm pretty happy with my Blu. I'm definitely going to have to acquire an ego at some point, once I'm more experienced though, as I feel it will be better for vaping at home.

Yep, 510 is the right stuff. There are many options with that threading.

The Blu uses the same threads, just a different polarity which doesn't matter for cartomizers and atomizers.

Batteries and chargers are a different story.

(You will want to stay above 2.0 Ohm resistance on any cartomizer or atomizer you get as the Blu batteries are an unknown to me on the amount of current they can safely discharge. Probably 2.5 Ohm is what you have now, but a meter can confirm that.)

Yep, I have read that too. That being said, polarity should have no bearing on which carts I use, right? I (obviously?) have the blu batts & pcc(which I feel is a very nice pcc), so I will continue to use them together. My main concern is Carts/Cartos/Attys and which to get, at this point in time.

Edit: Dang, this forum is fast, cant reply without being beat to it ;)

To give a quick heads up on your eliquid, anything 50/50 or more pg than vg will work fine in the carto. Johnson Creek is pricey for what you get. Bluemist, though really cheap, isn't the best quality either. Some people are really happy with these two companies while others are not. If you tell us what you're looking for flavor wise we can point you in the right direction

At the moment, I am considering mosting Tobacco/earthy flavors, I would prefer to stay away from anything really sweet.
I agree that Johnson Creek is pretty pricey, but with all the different companies, Im getting a bit overwhelmed. I also would like USA made liquids, as Ive read some horror stories with some Chinese liquids, so that played a part in my decision also.

if you're looking for a cigarette tobacco flavor, it's not going to happen. If you're looking for an actual tobacco flavors, go for companies that extract from real tobacco. Goodejuice house brewed, primevaping natural tobaccos, vaperite natural and organic tobaccos, and want2vapes blondie, alcazar, red pirate, tabac, london, louisville, managua, and stockholm are all extracted

No, that should be fine with what you have. If you happen to want to pick up an extra 510 battery, you can't charge it on the Blu charger. But you can pick up 510 batteries and chargers pretty cheap.

I think when you fill a cartomizer, it tastes better and lasts longer. Backwoods Brew has nice tobacco juices and I think his juice is 70pg/30vg. Vapor Station also has good tobacco juice which is 60pg/40vg.

Good luck! Hope you find something you like!

Thanks for all the helpful info and fast responses all!

@ luceblueboy - I will definitely have to try some of those vendors. Before I start looking, any of them have recommendable samplers? I don't completely know what my tastes are yet.

Regarding Cartos/Attys: Is there any real difference in where I get them? I've seen "Boge" recommended, so I will probably be picking them up; that being said, a lot of vendors sell Boge cartos, and most look different?(Idk if Boge is a manufacturer or design speccs, could anyone provide enlightenment?)

For your pv, I think boge is the best. They hold about a ml of juice and you get a good vape.

You can get them at Joogler and get a free bottle of juice. Use the code ECF5OFF for $5.00 off your first purchase. Get the 510 SR cartomizers.

Joogler Juice - Online Store

Pick up a couple of drip tips- it makes it easier to top off your carto with juice.

You can also get a free bottle of juice from Vermillon river- You pay shipping.
