Been about 2 years vaping...on 12mg nic.

I have developed a chain vaping style when Im home..at work, I have a more disciplined approach...maybe 5 minutes 4-5 times in an 8-10 hour period. Sometimes I wonder if Im chain vaping because 12mg is too less. Not sure really.

Does 12mg make juices taste a bit harsh? Mine sometimes have taste that is not dissimilar to gasoline?

Now Im wondering if I should step down to 9mg....maybe it will make the juices taste less harsh. Or will it escalate my chain vaping due to lower nic?

What do y'all think?

Hard to say... Lots of variables there. Are you satisfied while at work and vaping in a more disciplined fashion? If so, you could apply that to home as well (I am the WORST at giving this advice, I tend to chain vape a bit at home myself). I will say when I'm distracted and doing something I tend to vape less generally, without discomfort.

How much PG is in your vape? That can contribute to harshness... I am PG sensitive but took a drag off the husband's 50-50 VG/PG juice and it was HORRIBLE... Pins and needles in my mouth, throat and lungs... I definitely confirmed that I can't use anything more than flavoring without discomfort. With that said, I dislike a strong throat hit in any case and I use nic salts to remove the nicotine "peppery" at times mouthfeel, and I vastly prefer it. I DIY with it at 18 m.g. and really don't find I get nic sick, if I start to feel that way I just put my vapes down for a bit....

You could certainly try a lower nic strength at home and if you have a puff counter on one of your mods, use that to see differences (or even just how much you are refilling). If you are chain vaping more out of habit than need, I could see that not necessarily increasing your intake, but you're you-- so I have no real idea what will happen, but if the worst would be you vape MORE at home, well, you can always go back to 12 m.g. if you drop it some.

Good luck with what you decide. :)

I have never had any harshness from nic.

There are now rule about what strength you should vape. I dropped my nic from 18mg to 12 gradually and noticed I was vaping a lot more. So I went back up.

You can have different strength juice throughout the day. I vape higher nic juice through the day and drop it a bit at night.

i suppose it might taste nasty if the juice is really really old and has been out in heat and bright light for a long time. Seems unlikely though. Juice that just tastes nasty is not uncommon though. Everyone likes some flavors and dislikes others and theyre all different.

I did get that chemical harsh taste went I was burning hot, maybe try bringing your watts down but keep the nic level up.

Then when I switched to Temp. Control settings after the struggle of figuring out the settings on the mod with help on here from ECF and then finding that sweet spot I really do enjoy it. The TC eliminates other chemicals that can get through when we are running to hot and now its always a smooth vape.

Another thought :)
Once I mixed a juice batch with WAY too much mint flavor concentrate, it just wasn't coming through the way I wanted, I had a cold at the time and couldn't taste right anyway I added more when I should have instead of just leaving it alone to steep! But when it was around 25% flavor concentrate it did have that gasoline taste. Maybe try a different juice from a different source.
I hope my experiences help a bit - Enjoy

You know just my personal :2c:, part of that rule about what strengths we should use is so we go through more juice with the nic level lower and then we need buy more product. If you vape comfortably at whatever strength and less often that is GREAT! :thumbs:Good Plan dropping the level in the evening, perfect as the nic is more of a stimulant sometimes.

I was vaping at 24mg since I began in August (and smoking too). And I chain vaped a lot! I have more recently reduced to 18mg and still chain vape at home.

I have run into some pretty harsh juice over the last five or six months as well as some really mild ones.

The nicotine level was the same in both. Adjusting the wattage helped in my case. I suspect the problem is something in your set up rather than nicotine content.

I vape only 70 VG at 12 mg.

Sometimes when I hit the mod first thing in the morn, my vision gets a bit blurry lol. I googled this
and seems nicotine can have that effect. (I thought only other solo activities make you go blind hehe).

So not keen on raising my nic content. Was just afraid that lowering it to 9 might not be enough to ward off cigarette urges,
btw I cant stand the smell of ciggies now so there is no turning back.

That slight burning/tingling sensation on your tongue and throat is the nicotine. Juice with less nicotine will be smoother.
The most effective way to reduce your nicotine level is to DIY, then you can reduce it by 10-20% per week until the desired level is reached. You will barely notice.
