It's pretty amazing that going on 3 yrs of vaping and starting at a 36 then to 30 then for more than a year or more I was at 24mg and couldn't budge from the 24mg. About 4 months ago I stepped down to 18, less then a month ago I was able to step down to 16mg and now 12mg and I'm currently mixing my own 10-12mg and buying some 12mg juice still too but very little and mostly DIY'ing. Well tonight I went for some older 18mg PG Brawny Blueberry from one of my favorite juice vendors Avejuice and when I vaped it I was floored at the TH and it really hit me hard and gave me a headache.

Stepping down really works folks no joke, I only stepped down to the 12mg for a short time now and at 10mg it's hardly noticeable from the 12mg I'm finding. I'm enjoying the vape much more these days with the lower MG and enjoying the flavors & vapor more than anything, makes me wonder if I cant drop down again this week, this is something I never thought it would be possible but it is. I'm finding if you just do it and step down for only a few days once your at these lower levels it gets simpler to drop down as well. Dam I could be down to 6-8 I feel by next week. I'm really enjoying just the vapor and flavor more and more and not needing the Nic as much. I'm so surprised at this I just never thought I would ever be able to drop down. The gradual steps really worked extremely well and I feel its the best way to roll with stepping down after vaping for all this time, not nearly the side effects I thought I would have moving down the ladder and I'm feeling better without as much Nic too.

Thanx for your post! Although it wouldn't bother me if I never drop the nic level, I have wondered about time lines. I started at 24 and dropped to my present 18 after two weeks. I'm vaping like my avatar, but I'm not going through any withdrawal like I did going cold turkey for 10 weeks 17 years ago. I'm sure that dropping the nic would help the ol' BP. I'm presently at the upper end of normal; ergo, presently no major concern.

Again, thanx!

That's great to hear. I need to cut back some fast, I am at 24mg and I have big problems with sleeping now. I am up 2-3 nights a week all night long, its like being on speed. Problem is I have all this juice that's 24mg. I will probably have to bight the bullet and dilute some of it with PG to try to get it down to 18mg or so. I cant cut back the amount I vape so its either cut back the mg or take something to help me sleep. But its good to hear that cutting back the mg doesn't cause to much discomfort.

I'm going 18mg on my next order. I've been pretty consistent at 24mg since I started. Tried 18 at times and could do it but vaped more, anything below that the PV never left my hand but I think I'm at the point 18mg would satisfy me. I'm sitting on enough 24mg juice of for a small army and like them all so my next order won't be for quite a while.

Stepping down is the way to go. I started vaping Jan. this year and by March I started reducing the nic mg on the juice I ordered. In May, I took the big step and ordered o nic juice. You are right in that the flavor and vapor are great. Because there is no nic, I am DIYing, and it is so quick and easy to make a 30 ml bottle of juice. Yes, stepping down has it advantages.

Believe me I have had a couple of years of the up all nights syndrome while vaping the higher MG, even my heart racing like I was speeding my azz off and couldn't slow down and kept vaping. I vape like a locomotive and have since I started I was a 2 pack a day smoker for 25yrs up until a little less than 3yrs ago. I still vape all day long but I'm finding with the cutting down of the Nic I no longer am up all night as much, vape a little less, and feel much better with the lower mg's theres just no doubt about it. I'm also really finding that just a great juice and mega vapor production is satisfying me a whole lot these days. Having great Mods is key for me and has done the trick as well as flavorful and good juices, I now am very much satisfied with the flavor and vapor, I'm feeling I will drop down to 8-10 very soon because its much easier to drop mg levels once you get lower and lower on the mg

Great post up MWA - i have been vaping ten weeks now at 24mg. I had a plan in my head to drop 6mg every three months. So in two weeks time i'll be dropping to 18mg. Then three month of 18mg and drop to 12mg. I'm not being too rigid with it though and if i have readjust my plan then i will. It is important for me to get my nic level down but to do it slowly. I have not had an analog in the 10 weeks and don't wanna fall off this particular wagon now or ever.
I look forward to the flavours tasting nicer as my nic levels come down. And i will be a very very happy man when i'm vaping 0mg every now and then just for the hell of it and not because i 'need' it.

Great post....thanks.

My mother has dropped down from 36 to about 6. I mix her juice for her and I did it slowly.

I vape the same and while I can't vape the 30 that I sometimes did, I'll probably stick with my 24 because that works for me as far as nicotine cravings. I'm not a chain vapor though. I only vape when I have a nicotine craving, then I take a few hits and put it down. I never went though a lot of juice anyway, but I have noticed I'm going through less juice than when I started.

If you ever stop vaping completely, I know someone who will give those mods a good home.

I started at 24, and found that when I started using menthols, I was able to easily cut down to 18 and then 12 pretty quickly. Over time I got down to 6 and have stayed there, with all flavors. I vape quite a bit more, though. I also have noticed that if I try a juice at higher strength that it gives me an unpleasant nicotine buzz.
