I quit cigarettes over 4 years ago, with the help of a CE3 clearomizer setup. I switched to MT3s clearomizers a few years ago. I know everyone is using the new mods and going for Max Vapor now, but what let me quit smoking was the throat hit. I use a 70pg/30vg juice, 24 mg nicotine and the strongest mint/menthol I can find. It's been VaporGod's Arctic Wolf for quite a while now. But, since I'm in PA, I can't order from VaporGod anymore. I've tried a couple local shops for juice, but their mix is always 50/50. Even at 24 mg, the throat hit barely exists. Any suggestions for a new mod setup that can give me the hard throat hit, but not produce massive clouds of vapor? (I vape at work and the clouds are not good.) I also understand that the new mods will allow me to drop the nicotine level but still supply the throat hit, is that correct? Thank you for your advice.

Your current set-up still works for you and you like it, but the problem is finding 70PG/30VG eliquid in 24mg, now that you can't buy your favorite one from out of state. Have I got that right?

If that's the case, the vendors you checked may not have ready-made eliquids in the PG/VG ratio you want, but are there none who custom make eliquid for their customers? We have quite a few of those in FL.

Or, check online to locate vape websites whose physical company location is within PA, but just not near you. That should give you at least 1 or 2 that carry the 70/30 ratio eliquids, and/or maybe custom make it. Get a few small sample sized bottles of it and see which works best for you.

Last option would be to start DIY...so you can make exactly whatever ratio, nic content, and flavor/types you want to. It's not as hard as many think it will be!

ETA: Thought of another option for you. Do you have friends/relatives who visit you periodically from out of state, or you visit them? Whenever it's needed...order and have a decent sized quantity of your regular eliquid shipped to them. When you visit them or they come see you...problem solved!

I never liked throat hit. But lately I started making 20mg all PG juice to use at work, and it's rough on my throat. Actually that's around 80% PG because my nic is in VG. Around the same mix you were talking about except mine has no flavoring. I guess menthol increases the throat hit even more.

I guess everyone has different needs. What I find harsh would probably seem tame to you. You should consider mixing your own. Seems like your preferred level of throat hit is up the scale a bit and there might not be many commercial juices that would do it for you.

Can't really help with the hardware. I'm sure you could get the hit you want with something low ohm and high power. A while back I was given a tank called a Herackles. Low ohm multiple coil head. About as far as you can get from the KFL's I normally use. It ripped my throat out even at low power with my usual mostly VG low nic juice so I only tried it a few times. Problem might be that kind of tank is designed to produce a lot of vapor as well.

Good luck, hope you find what you need.

I don't know anyone out of state well enough to ask them to order for me. VaporGod is in PA, but with the hefty tax imposed last year, will no longer ship within the state. Any of the better liquid websites outside PA will not ship here either. Our local shops will not customize the mix, everything is 50/50. I'm currently ordering small bottles from the few vendors within the state that still offer 70pg juice. If that doesn't work, I may have to go the DIY route.

Thank you! I'm leaning toward DIY is some of these samples don't work out.

I'd be buying 24 nic in pg and adding the menthol or mint to taste. Straight 24 in pg will kick hard. Go higher if needed. If I only got a few breaks at work, I would. Since it's pg, you can get even more th by cranking up the power muchly. I imagine there are not many newer tanks that can run straight pg tho.

DIY is pretty easy to do really. There are plenty of juice calculators to help you work out the amounts of PG, VG, NIC and flavouring you need. Once you are set up it is pretty cheap compared to buying pre made juice. Best thing is you can tweak the recipe to get exactly what you want. Just make small amounts to begin with till you get your perfect recipe, then just up the quantities to make larger batches.

You could try ordering directly from Halo, they have many menthol strengths, their standard mix is a high pg liquid as well, and they offer 24mg. They also offer shipping to PA, you pay the PA tax of about $8.80 on each 30ml bottle at time of purchase which brings the price up to about $35 per 30ml after shipping. Just an option.

Yikes! That sure would make DIYing an even more attractive option, if I were in the OP's position.

tbh I'm surprised you are even able to find 50/50 anymore... imo go diy and never look back, you'll be able to make exactly what you want without settling for someone else's idea of what's good.

I also agree to try diy instead of changing your devices. Or just try another local vendors 50/50 mix , as it can just be that your current vendors 50/50 juice is a little weak. I'm like you, TH is number one for me, I vape 24mg nic at 23 ish watts , but with rebuildable rta's , and usually buy tanks with very small build decks for max TH. But one thing I have noticed is that some vendors 50/50 can have much less TH then anothers, so sometimes it something else in the juice that makes the difference. I vape from 50/50 to 70vg and I have certain juices that have a stronger TH at 70vg then 50vg.

Also those new mods that allow you to drop nic are not just a new device, but a different style of inhaling. The new sub tanks utilize lower resistance coils snd higher wsttages that provide more vapor, but along with that, the airflow is much more open. This open airflow is necessary to cool the coil because of the extra heat generated and because of this type of AF, the type of inhale changes from mtl, to dl. Vaping DL inhales with low nic reduces TH compared to what your probably use to know

On further thought, I'm going to plug my recently acquired tank. I found it on 3avape.com. im getting good throat hit with max VG at 14 mg with a 0.6 ohm coil. Im pretty sure menthol at 50 PG would scrub my tonsils. search the Nicolas tank and coils. You could try it for about 18 to 20 bucks with coils. The down side is china shipping. Also, I dont remember what a CE3 is like to make much of a comparison.

$35 for 30ml. OUCH !!!! Just worked out that a 30ml DIY 24mg 70/30 Menthol Mix would cost me about $1.
I am in the UK so the price also includes the 20% VAT that we pay.
