It's just my opinion but I have not been a smoker for several years I will take an acasional putt or two off of a cigarette. Just to remind my slef how yuchy they are They don't have a TH I think the whole thrat hit thing is in our heads.
I remember thinking Vapor just doesn't quite do it for me like smoke dose when I switched. Now its the opsite. Smoke just tastes bad and feels week to me anyway

I agree, as a large part of what we consider taste more relates to texture rather than flavor. With smoke it's the dryness associated with a cigarette's heat.

Not the fuller warmth and flavor as it starts to steadily burn in but those satisfying drier early pulls first thing in the a.m. I still recall those with some fondness.

Good luck. :)

Another aspect to bear in mind is alkalinity. Throwing a recipe or finished juice to the pH high side can produce some of the kick you're referring to in moderation. Too much and it starts to resemble the textured taste sensation of a bad circuit (acrid, bitter). It's a good idea to consider the modifying effect of any additive with respect to any favorable impact on flavor or throat hit; as well, with concern as to the potential increase in nicotine uptake as suggested by this summary…

Methods
The present study compared nicotine absorption from a single unflavored referent ST product (pH 7.7) that was flavored with a low level of wintergreen (2 mg/g) and the pH was amended to either high (8.3) or low (5.4) pH with sodium carbonate or citric acid, respectively.

Nicotine Absorption from Smokeless Tobacco Modified to Adjust pH

Conversely lowering pH slightly can impressively smooth the vape.

Good luck. :)
That's pretty interesting, and again haven't heard of that either. I suppose the way things are moving, it won't be long before there is a definite, satisfying way to perhaps make a extremely low nic juice feel like a very high nic juice in terms of that extreme thump. So changing the pH would just increase nic abortion but maybe not necessarily increase the TH?

Agreed. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. :D

As to the question, additives may help arrive at the necessary sensory effect without having to appreciably increase nic uptake. Yes. But moderately adjusting pH may help in getting there. I work the problem in the opp direction as you say, i.e. trying to smooth the vape while keeping nic level up. It's rather easy to bump the throat hit a little by adding some nic, as suggested earlier.

Good luck. :)

That's interesting. It's been over 7 years since I had a cig, but when transitioning I felt that 24mg and that burn it gave me was similiar to a cig, so I have always stuck to it and love it. There's no way I will ever try another cig, but it would be interesting to see if I would feel it to be weak.

I tried one after 3 years, I doubt you would notice any cig TH over the taste of poison in your mouth. To me all I could taste was "bitter" like a poison.

Winner !
For several hours afterwards too. And as a smoker i convinced myself i was enjoying it.

For me the only way to increase TH without upping the nic is to use an atty with a small bore drip tip - the vapour is directed to the back of the throat.
