If you want a good advanced personal vapor (APV) the Innokin SVD is a decent entry system. It works well and is simple to use once you get used to the menu options. With all APV's like this one, you will need to spend a little more up front for batteries and juice, but the long term use actually saves you money over the prefilled cartos. You said you wanted small, so I recomend 18350 IMR batteries.

I like the Vamo a little better than the SVD, but Vamo doesn't do small.

If you are able to get the Sigelei v5, which I have and really like, it'll cost about $100 for the complete start-up. Unit, Batteries (2), Charger, tank, and juice.

You can get good bottom feeders from Discount vapers on the cheap, and the replaceable Heads, those are the things with the heating element and wicks, makeing the long term use even more economical. Kanger EVODS are a good device to start with.

For juice, many have thoughts, but a RY4 is a basic juice that you can get domesticly. Its an easy smoke, simple flavor, usually, and its not the most sold flavor for nothing.

The Vamo? ok and now why would I look at the vamo? Not being sarcastic or snotty, I really am asking. Also I assume that regular C or D cells are a no go in these bad boys? also can anyone tell me what the diff between protected an unprotected batteries are?

You must use special batteries with an APV (Vamo, SVD, Sigelei), APV's have built in protection so unprotected batteries are reccomended. Protected batteries and protected devices clash with each other and the device won't work. These batteries are much higher powered than the batteries you get off the shelf and care is a must in using, handling, and storage. These rechargeable batteries come in different forms, it is HIGHLY recommended you use IMR unprotected in APV's.

I'm not a battery guru, so hopefully someone has a simple explaination on these.

The Vamo is just another brand of APV, some believe its a very good unit for the price, I'm one of them. But Vamo has 2 sizes, long and longer.

i didn't read the thread but i would say start with a vamo v3, and some cartos/carto tank. do a little research on the vamo and different voltages and what not. the vamo is pretty versatile and once u get a little more advanced, it will still be a good enough mod until u eventually get into mechs and rbas.
