So I'm looking to start making my own juice! I know there are calculators etc that can help but I was wondering if anyone had an good advice on measurements or tips for getting a good juice first time? I'm looking to go for a 50/50 split at around 6mg nicotine. Any advice or help welcome! Thanks in advance!

Every flavoring manufactures flavor concentration is different, start with a 10 ml bottle and start with the recommended % or 1 % less without nic, so remember to put 0 in the calculator for nic, and shake "n" vape, add more drops to your liking but use caution as you can ruin the flavor with just a few to many, you may need an RDA for several flavor changes.
Most creams and bakery will need a week or more to come around but should have a decent profile within the first few day's................

Buy your base liquid with nic nice and high (100mg) and preferably either pure PG or VG. Next to that buy some regular PG and VG without nic. This way you can always mix whatever % and mg your after.

Try to mix your target nic level in large volumes. Being of by 1 ml with your 100mg base on a total mix of 500 ml is far less worse than when you of by 1/2 an ml on 10 ml. Once you have your half or whole liter of base at the by you desired nicotine and in the right % pg/vg, split to smaller amounts when adding flavors.
Flavoring is by far the most expensive and the easiest the screw up. You don't want to spoil 200ml of base with some new flavor that turns out to be awful. Neither do you want to find out that you diluted that amazing but expensive flavor so far, you can hardly taste it.

Good luck and happy diying

so after a little research I've come up with this rough estimation to get what I'm looking for

using a 72mg/ml Nicotine Base in VG

1ml of nicotine
7ml of vg
7ml of pg

5ml of flavouring

with my aim to make roughly 20ml of juice?

does that sound about right?

is there any specific order in which to combine ingredients or is it just add all together and then leave to steep?

hi merty !
the easy way is to use a program " ejuice me up "
its free to download . I don't know what flavor you are using...
looks like 25% ?? using concentrated from vz at less than 2% !

Sorry for my ignorance but what is VZ? I'm using Capella flavouring? I've tried to use that calculator but it doesn't work on my Mac
vaping zone ..concentrated
bummer on the mac...maybe somebody will chime in which program will work or google it .never used capella go with their suggestion maybe a little less ..you can allways add a little later.

I have googled it but it's starting to look apparent that the calculator has given me a false reading :(

Apparently looking at the reviews their supposed to be one of the best concentrates available in the USA?

The flavours sounds brilliant so I'm hoping for a good result just looking to get the most accurate measurements before I set off!

But it's looking like it's going to be a little harder than I first thought

Honestly, I'd start at 10% (which still may be a bit much) for either of those. That would be:

1.67ml nic
8.33ml VG
8ml PG
2ml flavor

I use VaporCalc on my tablet, btw. It does eliquid calculations and Ohm's law, coil calculations, and lets you save recipes.

Brilliant! I'll give that a try once my kit arrives and keep you posted with the results!

Any advice on steeping time or is that not always necessary?

Would that app work on my iPhone as I don't have a tablet? I've seen people say that certain apps only work on iOS and not on a Mac?

A lot of people say you must steep, I'm of the other mind and don't. I use creams and vanillas with my fruit flavors, and the most my niquids need is an overnight meld to get stronger fruits to play nice with the lighter flavors. I just shake well and vape.

Brilliant thank you! I think if I make 20ml I'll split it into 2 10mls and steep one and use the other and see if I can notice a difference between the 2! I'll give that a try with both flavours and keep you posted with my results if you like?
