Hello there! I'm new to the ecig world, but ready to make a commitment! I've been reading and reading for hours...while much more educated on the subject, I'm no closer to making an actual purchase. I'm just not certain what the best choice would be.

So, I'm hoping I can describe my habits and what I like/dislike so that I can get some strong suggestions on which road to go down first.

Basically, I'm going to completely switch from about a pack and a half a day to eCigs. I currently smoke Camel Light 99's, so I like long draws.

I would like decent portability (for long car rides, working outside, etc, etc) but I smoke most of the day while working from my PC.

My wife would need a mostly battery operated model as she would not have a reliable source of power most of the day while at work.

For two people switching to eCigs as a replacement to analog smokes, what would you recommend considering the circumstances above?

So I need a model for both me and my wife...I'm the heavy smoker, she smokes 1/2 to 3/4 of a pack a day. I'm sure we'll need different models.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Peace,
PHRoG

Welcome! The two most recommended models seem to be the 510 and the KR808D-1 (also known as KR8). Take some time to read The Wonderful World of vaping stickied thread at the top of the page - you'll find all kinds of details, pros and cons.

A good choice for your wife might be the KR8 - it is a no-fuss, 2-piece design, very portable, with great battery life, particularly with the extra-long 380mAh batteries, which can go for 8-9 hours of normal use. Since you are at home a lot, it is all up to your preference, but whatever you decide, a pass-thru would likely be a good option for you.

Best of luck!

Greetings PHRog
You'll probably get a load of responses, buy this one from here or buy that one from there. Before ya jump make sure and read these:
The Wonderful World of Vaping: An Illustrated Guide to E-cigs (Parts 1 through 6)

Buying and Using an Electronic Cigarette: A Primer

First purchase can be made from most any of the vendors in the Suppliers forum

ECF Approved Suppliers

Whichever vendor you consider, do a simple search of their name and you can find feedback regarding them.

Whichever device you may go with just know that they can all work well. To actually find one that works well for you is going to require trying one out and building on what you've learned.

Luck

I'd agree with smokinridge on the eGo. I recently purchased a Tornado - totally wicked's version - the same device:

Wicked-TORNADO E-NI or Electronic Nicotine Inhalator Black.

I think it would suit both you and your wife's needs. You could get two different colors :) You'll likely need 2 kits. I've been getting consistently 6 to 6.5 hours with moderate to heavy vaping - as the blurb at TW says.

...plus TW has the new fast usb charger... I don't think Janty has theirs in yet but haven't checked in hours.....

Please search the forum for all the reviews on the Janty eGo. It's all day(!) battery life really would make it the perfect first choice for you and your wife, in my opinion.:D
.

Where do you buy them?

I found a Janty webpage ... but it didn't look like they were selling eCigs ... lots of Asian chicas, etc.

Also ... Silver Bullets?

I recommend the Vapor King from Vapor4Life for your wife because it's easy to use and the batteries are long-lasting - plus she can purchase a PCC to charge a spare battery. The VK is a great product with a vast assortment of cartos in different flavors and strengths, and they have terrific customer service.

You have a greater variety of good options if you're at the computer for hours at a stretch and can use a pass-thru with your usb. The VK would work very well for you, too. I use mine at the computer all the time. But if you don't mind fiddling around with filling and refilling more often, you may like a Joye 510 or one of the mods.

Best of luck to you both!
