This forum used to have a google based search function that would pinpoint to the exact post most relevant to the query. Since that was done away with, I've seen the proliferation multiple threads dealing with the same subject.

Now, I search google and add e-cigarette-forum.

Maybe I should have omitted the word 'new' from the title.

lol, don't sweat it, it's your opinion and you are actually right that some members would discover more information about their particular issue if they searched.

But the fact remains that part of the purpose of the forum, at least in my eyes, is a social gathering point for vapers to exchange ideas, opinions and friendship. You can't get that from just searching.

That's the only point I was trying to make.

No, not simple. What you did was a cheating. You made a search of (already known for you) exact names of short threads. In reality search engine is (too often) not helpful. Sorry, your advice is not working.

And, by the ways, to search something for novice is much more difficult than for advanced user. Novice does not know how to name a thing he wants to learn about. Novice does not know what to search. Be kind, answer his question or help him to search.

Before blaming someone of cheating try in search titles only the words 'nautilus' and 'taste'.You will be surprised what technology can do for you.
And if a novice member is searching the reason his Nautilus gives bad taste, using the previous two words is not anything innovative.

The sarcasm is just for emphasis, don't take it wrongly.:toast:

Nah, communication is only 10%ish what is said, (probably even less read vs said) the rest is subjective, and since we don't have the rest Is newbies will just keep in mind all comments, suggestions, et cetera, have no negative intent ;)

I think the new members' forum should be way more 'lax when it comes to repeating questions.

Getting into vaping is really confusing with all the terminology, ohms law, voltage, power, etc.

I personally love to answer my newbie friends' questions, no matter how repetitive or simple they are because when I first started, I wished I had someone break everything down for me.

...use the search option of the forum. Most of your questions have already been asked and most have been answered too. There is no point in asking, for example, which are the best juices. It has been asked hundreds of times and answered as well.Just do some homework, it will help you a lot as it did to me and so many others.

    Cheers
With respect I get your point but I for one posted multiple questions I probably could have found "some" answers to by doing a search but I really liked the amazing, polite, helpful and most importantly current answers I got to my questions. Especially early on in my vaping. If it has been asked and you do not want to answer just scroll to the next post. I like answering new or inexperienced peoples questions as I feel like I am helping them I have also found over the last year that answers I may give now are totally different from those I would have given a year ago.. Just my 2 cents.

Um...Tapatalk users? Do you find that when you click on an embedded link (like in this thread) that you end up being routed to the main subjects menu, not the content of the link itself?
What the heck am I doing wrong? I like laying in my bed with my little Android phone reading posts rather than having to try and get comfy with my laptop. :)

My 2 cents- I'm sure everything us newbs to ecf have to ask, has been covered in the past. In that case, we could never ask questions, or post count would never go past the 5 we needed to get out on the playground, and most likely, all talk on ecf would come to a halt because everything has been discussed before. It's more than asking a question, it is dialogue that helps us understand you, and you us. :)

and there is about a dozen threads with this same subject matter too.... well now there is 13 threads :)

More like 50 probably. New vapors love helping even newer vapors. It's part of the fun of such a huge and ever changing membership of new vapors

Much info also changes over time

If the op searched threads about searching threads he wouldn't have started this thread

    That made me dizzy

I understand the op's advice and concerns. I think his point has been missed a bit. New best juice for example was not the best example.

    Here is one example :

There is a huge thread, actually two, regarding the fogger v4 atty. It includes pictures, pictorials, and everything relevant; from different versions to exactly how people are building and using it successfully, as it could be a little tricky to master. When I was new to this forum, or vaping in general if I were having trouble or seeking information, may have started a thread asking about how to build this atty properly, but now I know that searching for an existing thread not only get me the answers without having to wait for a reply, it also keep all the information in one place, adding details, and eliminating multiple search results; be it threads or posts, that one must wade through on your journey to the answers.

This rings true within threads as well. The rayon thread for example, us super long and I myself along with a number of others take care of the thread every day, and exert day someone new asks the same question and adds something to the effect of " this thread is so big can someone just tell me where to buy this" I understand that it's a huge thread, but a search yields your answer faster than asking your question and waiting for the answer. It also keeps the thread your complaining about shorter by that many posts, thus easier to get the answer again.

It may have never crossed my mind if someone hadn't pointed it out to me so I hope new people understand, it's not only faster but more effective.

    Thanks for reading.
