Hello vapers. Looking to eventually build my first mod. Need some good online resources to give me direction. I just started vaping now for 4 weeks. Must say I enjoy it and would like to continue. I stop smoking cigarettes and proud. I currently have a Kangertech Emow tank with a Vision spinner with the variable voltage. I want to move on to bigger and better "puff clouds". This is all new to me. From what I read online im confused and dont know where to start. So many options. I want something good that will last but not have to spend hundreds of dollars. Any advice or direction would be great.

First off, welcome to the forums! You'll find everyone here is super friendly and willing to help. And, congrats on getting off of the cigs! You should start noticing the differences in your health very soon now!

As for a good resource? Click on the link in my signature "Bad's Awesome Blog". Everything in there is gold! If you are wanting to read and learn about your different options, that is definitely a good place to start!

I'm in the process of doing my first mod as well. Your first step should probably be deciding if you're building a mech mod or regulated and if regulated, which chip you want to put in your box. Myself, I'm going to attempt putting a dna 40 in a Cana enclosure. I'll have about $100 in parts with my build. There's some really good threads on here if that's the direction you decide to go.

You may consider taking a look at the Grimm Green videos on YouTube or Rip Trippers for that matter. Both of these guys have been doing this for awhile and have a pretty good handle on all-things-vape. Green, for one, has a series of videos called Taking the Next Step and its devoted to individuals, like yourself, who want to move from the initial regulated devices to mechanical mods. RipTrippers has series called Cloud Chasing 101 I believe. I haven't watched all the way the through but I believe it's instructive for this purpose.

Those are good resources, but still be sure to give Baditude's blog a read through... before delving into the realm of mechanical mods there are a few things that you should have a good handle on. Battery safety, use and possession of measuring equipment (DMM, Ohm reader, Voltage reader), and how to identify/correct a short are things that you need to know before getting into mechs and rebuildables.

Absolutely right. All good points. Understanding the safety issues is definitely a big one as well as the other points discussed in the blog.
