I am fairly new to vaping, about 3 months. I don't use it too often but it helps me when I'm drinking and wanting a cigarette. I have a kangertech mini pro tank 2 and kangertech EVOD battery. The tank works fine although I would like something that produces more vapor.. any suggestions? Also my battery is starting to go so I also want to purchase a new one.. any suggestions? Someone I met last night suggested the Vision Spinner 2, is this a good battery? I don't need anything too expensive or crazy. Thanks!

what is a box mod? sorry new to all the terms. I want something that looks similar that I can bring out with me
The vision spinners or ego twists are good batteries for what it sounds like you're looking for.
If you're going for something more advanced, the MVP or the eleaf istick are both worth considering. And take a look at the innokin VV V3, which has all the features of the MVP, but in a form-factor more like the spinners (except it's square, so it doesn't roll off the table!)

If you want something simple with replaceable heads, then the Nautilus or Nautilus Mini are supposed to be a very easy and flavorful vape. Coils are a little pricey but I read that it does make that much of a difference. Get the BVC coils.
I started out with a 1300mah Spinner and it worked perfect for me for months. Easy form factor and reliable. I have an MVP2 and love the battery life but am not fond of the box mod shape. Not comfortable for me. But that or the Istick are the best bang for your buck. The Istick runs a little hot I hear.
ETA - reread op post and took out advanced gear advice.

I like the box mods. Just seem to fit in my hands better for a solid hold. They are actually a newer phenomenon. About a year and a half. Larger base means less falling over. Although, I have souvenir coffee mugs around that I set my mod in. The mugs are good for memories, too.
Anyway, I have the early MVP2 and love "them". I heard that an update would come out for Christmas sales, but also learned that it was a temporary "update", (MVP20W) and that the MVP3 would come in January 2015. The release is set for next Monday with a formal ceremony at the company. Looking at the specs, it is a definite competitor. Good solid construction, capable of most everything that the hobby calls for.
So, I am waiting for the release and the "initial" suggested retail price. Monday.

This is an eLeaf istick with an aspire nautilus mini tank. There's a smaller "mini" version of the eLeaf that is roughly half the size. These are the start of the box mods category.
The nautilus is somewhat of an upgrade from the protank mini. It's probably x2 the cost but I think the vapor production is much better and it'll hold about .5ml more.

I'm not up to speed on the smaller boxes. Is this the MVP 3 or the MVP 20W?

Indirectly, yes. The boxes are usually capable of producing more vapor, but that's because most can produce more power than the standard "pen" batteries. An MVP or IStick will allow you to adjust the volts/watts to a greater degree than the Spinner. Plus, they have much better battery life.
Those are two different devices. The MVP 20w was a middle ground upgrade while they developed the MVP3 (30w), which will be released soon.
There will also be a 30 and 50w IStick, which I believe may be the better choice.

Usually the box mods have higher watts which is supposed to help produce better vapor but only if you use a better tank also.
What mods (either tube or box) have over eGos (like the spinner) is mainly in battery life, and larger power range.
JFTB - I think it's a little bit of both. The technology has grown quite a bit, even in the last few months, so there are some box mods out there that are getting SUPRA-powerful. In general, the lower power box mods are going to put out a little more power than a spinner type battery but getting the right tank, I think has a bigger impact on vapor production, taste and throat hit.
ShariR hit it in the above post. Aspire makes great tanks and although the atomizers are a little more expensive to replace they have always worked great for me.
Also I like the "form factor" that the box mods have. They feel better in my hand and I like to be able to sit my mod down and know that if I look away it's going to stay where I put it and not fall of the table and roll under the couch. Really though, it's your preference. I did feel a little cool when I used the stick batteries. It's like I had a futuristic cigar.

There are so many choices out here right now (I've only been at this for about a year, and what's come to market has been CRAZY. I basically started with Spinners, but have moved to a little more "advanced" devices. I used MVPs and VV3s through the spring and summer (with basically the equivalent of the mini protank) I got a couple larger tube mods September/October and threw in a couple Nautiluses (full and mini) I REALLY do like the Nautiluses (when I prep them correctly)
I just try to boil it down to some basic tenants - 1) Form Factor - Stick/Tube/Box 2) Battery Life - how long can I go between charges? 3) Replaceable or non-replaceable batteries - Spinner/MVPs are non-replaceable batteries. When they die, they die. My tube mods (Sigelei Zmax V3 and Vamo V6) and my iPV Mini all use replaceable batteries, so I need a separate charger. 4) Power capabilities - The MVP2 tops at 11W power output. The MVP20W and the MVP V3 offer higher ranges, for which some toppers work much better - like the Nautilus.
Tanks - do you want to learn to rebuild? If not, you'll need to stick with something that offers replaceable coils (Nautilus, Kanger Aerotank, Kanger SubOhm, and a plethora of others.) More vapor? What PG/VG level are you currently using? I've been finding that the airflow was a little restrictive on the Mini ProTank. I also have been rebuilding those coils, and I find I get much better results (with basically the same juice) with my coils than with the stock coils.
So, yeah, there are a LOT of options out there. Depending on your budget, you could come up with a couple of different toppers and a really decent mod with which you could grow a bit, and not spend $100.
That is the MVP20W. Visually, it is an MVP2 clone, but it has a spring 510 pin and 20 watts. The MVP3.0 is a new and different animal.

Thank you! I'm not looking to rebuild. I'm thinking i will go with the nautilus but still not sure on a battery. I don't want to go with a box.. should i go with the spinner?

The Spinner 2 should be fine. Decent battery life, and you should get pretty good results. I'd probably suggest the Nautilus Mini because I think the full-sized will be too "top-heavy". Tend toward the 1.8 ohm BVC (Bottom Vertical Coil) - they seem to be more successful (although, I used the BDC - Bottom Dual Coil without any issues.)

ETA - I just saw twgbonehead's suggestion about the VV3. That's a great little battery, but you'll sacrifice battery life (700 maH on the VV3 compared to about 1600 maH on the Spinner 2.) There's a VV4 out there with a 1000 maH battery (still less than the Spinner 2,) but you'll get a wider "operating range" with the VV4 compared to the Spinner....

The spinner 2 is OK for starting out... I have one.. and it's good for the price... but it's got a limited voltage range and if you want huge clouds that may pose a problem... An MVP 2.0 is better and it's great for the price...
