Hello everyone!

My gf and I have ordered over $200 worth of PV hardware and juice and we were able to stay off analogs for the first day. Then after trying different juices and getting quite a few "dry/burn hits", we both went back to analogs and avoiding maybe 2-3 per day since then... I was hoping someone else went through this phase and could tell us how they got out of it.

I also have a few questions:

Is it possible that some eGo-C atomizers are simply defective?

Is there any juice that actually tastes like it's supposed to instead of just a "subtle hint of..."? We tried fruits, sweets, beverages and even pastries...

I find myself wanting an analog even after several minutes of heavy vaping, should I order something stronger than 24mg?

Thanks for your time! :)

Hi.

Well, I won't comment much on the eGo C atomizers since I don't use em. Wicking issues are common with e-cigs and thinning the juice (1 or 2 drops of PG or water at a time) will help.

Flavor: Dude, your taste buds are still fried/smoked/killed/dead. Give it a bit after the no-analogs. Also, some vendors may have stronger flavor than others, so see reviews and shop around.

You are having hardware issues which is probably why 24 mg isn't working for you. Some people vape 36 mg but that's rare. I'd suspect the hardware. See above about thinning.

What PG/VG ratio is your juice?

Thanks AttyPops! We've tried 50/50, 60/40 and 70/30 so far and I can't say I see much of a difference in between those 3... I don't think my taste buds are the problem since I can taste ingredients and spices in restaurants' meals that I can reproduce in my own kitchen. There's also 3 juices out of the 20 that tastes like it's supposed to, just not strong enough.

You may try the Splitfire from Got Vapes. It gives very good vapor production and flavor. There is a small learning curve to replace the heads, but not too overwhelming. Save your burnt out heads and learn to rebuild. I will be doing this soon, and will get away from the silica wicks and try bamboo yarn or cotton. Bamboo has the best wicking and is strong. There is a section on rebuilding heads on the forum in the stickies.

Edit: Oops! Didn't read you don't buy outside the country before I posted! The Vivi takes a little learning to make it work correctly. The wicks are too long and about 6 to 8 mm needs to be trimmed off them.

It would also be of help to know what you are using, i.e, eGo Twist, other? What OHM heads are you using?

That's really true.... at least for me.... only after 60 days without analogs I can enjoy eliquid's real taste....

What was said about taste buds being damaged is true. E-liquid flavors are not as prominent as food or drink. A possible useful tip is to exhale your vapor through your nose. Our sense of taste is closely related to our sense of smell. An example is when food or drink tastes muted or bland when we have a head cold or nasal congestion. So allow your sense of smell help out your taste buds until they have had time to heal.

Nicotine in vapor is primarily absorbed in the mouth and throat, not so much in the lungs. So pull the vapor into your mouth, wait, then inhale into the lungs, then exhale thru your nose and mouth.

I was never successful vaping from an atty or "dripping" if that is what you have been doing. Very frustrating. I would suggest either cartomizers or clearomizers...easy to fill and use and generally good flavor. Search and watch you tube demo videos on filling cartomizers and clearomizers. Another option are ce3, a kind of combination of the cartomizer/clearomizer.

24mg nicotine should be fine starting out. If there are juice vendors in Canada that offer sampler packs or trial sizes, try those to avoid paying a lot of money for juices that you don't like. Once you find flavors you like from a vendor, order more in a larger size.

Personally, I prefer cartotanks over everything else that I have tried. There is a small learning curve involved initially, but they are worth it in the end. Follow this link to a description of commonly used attachments with pics:

I'll probably get slammed for this...but take it from someone who has tried nearly everything out there short of RBAs. Skip the atomizer-cartridge-tank thing. They bite. Unless you want to "drip"...but that is a PITA. Personally I want to simply load something up and vape it...minimal fiddling and hassles for me, please! I've tried the "clearo" and "wick" style tanks. They are fine for some people, I guess, but don't deliver the taste and "hit" I like. They also tend to leak and tend to give burned hits. Yuck.

I've had best luck with eGo Mega Cartomizer (EMSCC or EMDCC.....personally I like single coil with would be the EMSCC) and they would fit perfectly on your eGo equipment (look good too). THey hold about 2.5 to 3ml. juice. The other thing I like a lot is cartotanks...sometimes called "DCTs" (but I don't use dual coils in 'em). Basically, while some people yammer on about how the polyfill of cartomizers effects the taste of the juice, I think they might be thinking of the way things were a couple of years ago. That's not how it is now. There are several companies that make good cartomizers now, including Kanger, Ikenvape, Boge, and Smoktech. You can choose your ohm levels...from LR to HR (but for eGos you want mostly LR...1.5 to no more than 3 ohm) get single or dual coil and punch your own cartos for use in the tanks if you want. The flavor is superior and strong..the TH is mind blowing...and it's relatively no fuss and lasts a long time with little or no fiddling.

JMHO and YMMV....but honestly. I believe in keeping it simple and using things that WORK.

just because you can taste food doesn't mean your TB are working for vape. take it from us, we know!

I don't use egoC, but if your atty is flooded you won't get good vapor.

it would be helpful if we knew your exact setup

when I started vaping, I would vape a while. then if I still wanted a cig, I had it. the first week I went from 50+ a day to 15 a day with that method ...... hang in there!

Thanks for the tips everyone! As I said before, my taste buds are more than fine, I can actually taste different spices inside a dish and 3 of the juices we got taste as it should (Coconut, Gummie Worms and Cola).

This is the hardware we're using:

Joyetech eGo-C Twist 900mAh
Joyetech Atomizers (Both HR and LR)
Vivi Nova v3
T3 Kanger CC

What is the PG/VG ratio of your juices?
PG is a better flavor carrier. I have an old Ego-c kit that I still occasionally use to try new flavors.
I have found that a high PG juice (70/30) works better with the Ego-c, and wicked clearo's. Good luck.

Most of them are 70/30, a couple 60/40 and four 50/50, I can barely taste the difference really, but strangely, the 3 we like are one of each ratio lol! We've been running the Twists at 4.2v which seems to give the best taste and vapor.

Are you sure that your juice ratio is PG/VG and not VG/PG. Some vendors list the ratios differently.
PG wicks better, and is a better flavor carrier than VG. It's certainly possible that you got some bum attys.
I don't use the ego-c attys much anymore because I got tired of filling the 1ml tank, and they leak.
You are really limiting yourself by only buying from Canadian vendors. If you haven't already, you might check out the Canadian Forum.
