Inside the box, in the upper part wrapped in foam padding is the Aegis X mod.
The foam padding lifts up to reveal another compartment, which houses the Cerberus tank. On the Cerberus side there is a small black box containing the kit accessories. This includes a mini USB cable, a replacement glass for the tank, many o-rings, a rubber USB cover for the Mod and some screws. There is also a spare coil the same as the one supplied, a small user manual, an envelope containing the warranty card and warnings.

To turn on / off the Aegis X, you make the usual 5 clicks on the power / fire button, pressing the plus and minus buttons together lock / unlock the screen, with the screen unlocked and making 3 quick clicks on the same fire button is possible use the up and down keys to select 4 memories (M1-M2-M3-M4), all of them customizable in different soft, normal, powerfull, TC / TCR, VPC and Bypass. Pressing the Up and Down buttons simultaneously opens the main settings screen. Within this menu, you can select:
- Auto if activated automatically detects the best power for the coil installed.
- Theme you can select three different graphic themes
- Color You can choose five different background colors
- Version Displays the firmware version and version date.
- ABB (Automatic battery balancing)
- Reset Simply resets the device to factory settings
