Ok so I got the aerotank about a month ago loved it, phenomenal. Now it's giving me trouble. I started getting a burnt taste and less vapor production, I tried soaking the parts in vinegars few hours then a hot water wash and dry burn. The horrid taste would subside some then return. So I replace the coils and it works great but a matter of days later it's back. I use a 50/50 blend I know with burnt taste to adjust the voltage but my battery doesn't adjust voltage I unscrewed it slightly to reduce the heat. I can't be replacing coils every few days I have the parts on a 24 hour soak in vinegar I am using a back up ce5. Any other ideas?

I've had the same problem with my Protank 2 the past couple of days, the same as you I put a new head in it but I was still getting the burnt taste every two of three hits. Anyway I Googled it and some people suggested turning the rubber grommet upside down (the round disc that sits on the top of the head) & if that doesn't work remove the flavour wick on top of the coil. Second one worked a treat.

Protank 3s are dual coil, the only thing I can think of is if its the old style head (where you can see the wick either side of the head) then it might have flavour wick on top of it & removing that might make a change. But might be worth putting the rubber grommet upside down first & see if that helps.

Hope this makes some form of sense :-s

These tiny coils and wicks in clearomizers just don't last long. You might slightly prolong their use by soaking and dry burning them, but eventually that becomes futile IMHO. Clearomizers are around because they are a great entry level device for beginners - easy to fill and easy to replace the coils. They were not designed for long term useage. It is not in the manufacturers' interest to design something that will last - they make their money selling more tanks and more replacement coils. Either deal with reality or move forward with more advance devices.

I suggest researching mods and rebuildable atomizers. The vaping experience increases dramatically. Once you have learned safe battery and mod useage, and understand how to use some simple calculators, you can learn to build your own coils and make your own wicks. Never again have to pay $3 for every replacement coil every few days. Homemade coils can last up to two months or more, simply dry burn them with every wick change every few days (easy and quick). Wire is cheap - $8 for a years supply. Cotton is cheap - $4 for a years supply. Don't be dependent on the poor quality of mass produced products from China.

You label the thread as an Aerotank issue. I assume you are already running the Aerotank dual coils. You CAN get bad coils. I got a bum coil that didn't last 6 HOURS. A month is a good run for these coils. Really good.

As Baditude said, these little coils don't last long. Not really supposed to. They WANT you to get replacement coils. If they would be consistent, it' all be cool.

But they aren't. :(

Yep; coil head only last a few days if you vape alot; may 2 days, maybe a week.

If you vape UNFLAVORED it might last longer because the flavorings tend to gunk up the coils; errr, possibly other additives like sucralose but I'm not sure.

Everyone had some good advice I guess I got a pack of $#!+ coils. I know it's probably best to look into mods and more advanced vaping but only have so much time and money. It sucks with kanger it's a hit or miss with coils. I have the new 15 ohm ones which I guess are soldered which makes rebuilding hard. Not to mention I don't know how to rebuild coils I should look into it.

I buy bulk 1.5 ohm coils from dhgate, no they are not "Kangertech" authentic bla bla blah. So far they last every bit as long as "authentic" coils. The only difference I have noticed is that the ohm range fluctuates more between coils of a said ohm. Mostly 1.6 ohm. I did get a 1.4 and I fricken LOVED IT! immediately bought a 3.1es so a can get lower.

Less than a buck a piece shipped and I just ptch em when the hits taper off and don't look back.

Wow a month?!!!!! never done better than a week with any coil, mostly two to five days and mostly three like clockwork.

I have Aerotank Mini and V2 - This might sound silly but do you keep the tank full of ejuice all the time? I noticed I lose lots of vapor and taste if I'm not keeping my Aerotanks full of ejuice.

If you chain vape, especially at high watts the tank tends to get hot
If there is a lot of air in the tank - for example if it's half full
The heat expands the air, which pushes liquid down and flood the coil, causing the loss in vapor and taste.

Yeah, I tend to chain vape... I should slow it down a notch. :vapor:
