That's a clean coil there scratchtheweasel. How would you compare it to something like a kayfun or a russian as that's what I generally vape, I also have 2 GUS Estia atomisers that are also tank atomisers though they are tri-coils.
Thanks Grrr (love the name btw). KFL's seem to have that magic flavor that nothing else has really repeated for me, but my time on one was very limited. The clone I bought had a bunch of problems and I never fixed or replaced it. My dailies are Taifun GT and Aerotanks so that's the best comparison I can share.
If I've managed to not bork the build on the GT it produces much more vapor and a warmer vape. I almost always run them at 1.0 ohms at 19-24W, so warmer is to be expected in that configuration. Flavor is great on the GT, but I think I would have to give a slight nod to the Aerotank for flavor. I suspect though that compared to a KFL or Russian the flavors of both might seem a bit muted.
My AT's are generally built to 1.5 to 2.0 ohms and run at 8-11W. It's a much cooler vape and the airflow with a v3 AFC is always very smooth and plentiful. My AT's are run on an MVP and I refer to them as my "polite vape". When in the office or other settings where I will be mingling a lot I usually will have these on me. They are great for running juices that would give the plastic tanks a hard time (cinnamon/citrus).
I like running fruit juices like AA and fruit/cremes like Strawnilla and Banana Puddin' in my AT's. I tend to do the bakery (PBC/GC) and tobacco (Virus/Wakonda) juices in the GT's. Not entirely sure why.
Anyway - more info than you probably wanted. I was unhappy for a while using factory coils, and probably would have left the AT's behind if I didn't start rebuilding them. Meg gave me a pointer in this direction and out of boredom I rebuilt a head one day. It was down the rabbit hole after that trying to get them perfect. Now they are a solid part of my daily routine, and probably will be for some time. They are great little performers and I'm quite fond of them.
Good luck with your tinkering. It took me longer than I would like to admit to get them working well for me, but it was a fun process. Lots of ugly coils, many shorts, and way too many floods. But it was all a lot of fun.
BTW this is the v3 AFC:

It makes a huge difference and works on all protanks and all "large" (e.g. not mega, jumbo, or mini ) aerotanks. The v2's were crappy imo. The v1's were good, but not as much airflow - still great for a more low profile AFC though.
