I'm a reo guy and have had both the boge and vmod I wish I had saved the money and just went with the reo to start. The vmod is a good intro to bottom feeders if your really tight on cash. I can tell you hands down all the reo love is for a reason. Not only is it an amazing build but Rob the owner/builder is very active on ecf and provides amazing service.

Here's my list of the perfect setup if you go the reo route

Reo grand $144
Some extra 6ml bottles very cheap on his site
18650 aw imr batteries from rtd I think like $7 ea.
RM2 atomizer on his site $44 amazing!!!!! This is a must
Organic cotton balls from cvs cheap
Kanthal 30ga on his site and cheap
A good charger also check rtd if you don't have one already

Good to go. This thing is a tank I've dropped mine 20 times and no worse for the wear. I've had provaris evics mechanical mods egos sliver bullets vmod and boge and non hold a candle to the reos vape experience!

There is the Boge Revolution which goes for around $30 and the Vapage Vmod which you can pick up around $90, might check Vapage does good sales, something like 50% off I believe.

Vapage E-Cigarettes, CIG2o Electronic Cigarette kits E-Cig and refill eCigs

1400mAH "V2" Bottom feeder! - Bargain Bin - Liquid Nicotine | Electronic Cigarette Liquids | E-Liquids from GatorVapor.com

Thanks for serving. I did a 4 year tour in the Navy. Had some of the greatest times of my life. National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Award and and a Meritorious Unit Citation for saving a downed pilot.

Thank you also, and yes military has been a great time. About to hit 13 years here and technically still on the way out, long process. Love hearing from the older vets.

Theres been a few lucky reo owners who picked up used units for less than a 100. check for used units I do not know where to look but I vaguely know some forum members story about getting lucky..

That's very true. I got a great reo in the classifieds and have had it over two years.

OP, if you want to see if bottom feeders are for you there are a few less expensive ones on the market. Like John mentioned, I picked up a Boge Rev on sale to see if I'd like bottom feeders - and found I did.

There are a few on the market, I'll move this to bottom feeder discussion.

So I saw a couple of threads here about the Reos Mod. I'm really interested in that style, but man... it's expensive for me. Are there more affordable mods of this style? I really like the fact that it's a dripper without the user actually having to drip. Thanks.

There are some other feeder mods that have been made in the past, and that you might find in a classified sale. Old Goat Mods is one, and another is Krimsom Kustoms. Both were very reasonably priced. There are (closed) threads here on ECF if you wanted to get more information on either of these.

Another option is the new Aurora feed system. Here's a review:

About a year ago, there was a thread devoted to Current Bottom Feeders. It is also now closed but filled with great information:

I see that some have mentioned the Boge Rev2 and the Vmod2 and VmodXL. I believe these may be the 2 least expensive on the marketplace today for a bottom feeding mod.

If you sign up for the newsletter at the Vapage web site you will get weekly discount coupons. I also would suggest getting the less expensive a la carte kit and get batteries and a better quality charger at RTD vapors. Then all you will need is liquid, as all else is in the kit, including 2 types of atomizing devices and 2 drip tips. Here's a blog with data about using this mod: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/fourthrok/

The Boge is a light weight nice rubberized plastic feeder. I've noticed some recent threads here on it, as new vapors have become aware of this mod. I used mine for a few months until it met it's demise, and have no complaints.

There is also the Aurora. This is a feeder module that fits on an ego or any 510 device with the use of an adapter. It's a new product Got Vapes is the US vendor carrying it at this time. If you care about look -- it looks super with a pipe looking mod base. See Video Above (that was posted as I typed).

The Classified's can be your friend, as well and I've certainly used them for some great deals. One has to be a verified member to see and use the classifieds, in case you didn't know.

Just a quick note with the Boge Rev- you can't use lower than 2.0 cartomizers or it will shut off. You just have to recharge it to reset. Draw is tight but I got a dremel and made some slots and improved the draw.

I have quite a few bottom feeders and do prefer them over other mods. Like the form factor and ability to drip.

I have both, the Vmod Xl and the Boge Revo. I like both of them, hard to say which is better as they both do a good job for what they are. The Vmod is a little easier to use, in my opinion, then the Revo. I've managed to flood my Revo a couple of times and managed to lose the feed tube, not the needle on the bottle but a tube that sits between the 510 connector and what ever device you have on it.
If I was in your situation, I'd go for the Revo, wait till Vapage has a 50% sale and snag one of those. And I'd keep an eye on the classified to see what all 3 are going for. What ever you do decide on, I'm sure you can find someone here on ECF that would be willing and glad to help out.

Thanks everyone for all the tips!

I'll definitely need to go the cheaper route for now. Still have a few years of school left until more financial freedom comes my way :)

Edit: I could forgo snowboarding a year to hoard all the vape equip I want, but that ain't happening lol.

Right now there is the "mystery coupon" sale at Vapage. You can pick up the Vmod for 50% off with the code G73RT. I just got some AMG pro spec slant coil atomizers. I like to stockpile them whenever there's a big sale (about every 2 months) at Vapage. The coupon is different for different products. It's 40% off for the atomizers...but more for the Vmods. Good luck whatever you decide!! I'm getting my Revolution V2 today from the Gator Vapor place. Man, that was FAST shipping! Ordered the 18th and it's here already!

I'd avoid the reo like the plague.I had one and melted the button on it after 2 days use. They offered to fix it for me for a mere $20 more.I fixed it myself and traded away the next day.If you're strapped for cash, build one(pictured above)should cost you about $10 and takes 1/2 hour to build. It will also teach you how badly people are getting suckered in paying $200 for a battery holder.
