It is something I've been wanting to do for some time now. To experience for myself what other folks say about trying a cigarette after vaping for so long (disgusting, nasty, etc.). I also needed to do it, to give myself some closure as it were and remind myself of what I used to do. It turned out to be very therapeutic and something I may do every few years. I would not recommend it for a new vaper trying to quit, but I would for those who have been vaping awhile.
A friend of mine who smokes and vapes, allowed me to take a few drags from his cigarette. It was apparently a light Marlboro type. I would not say it was "disgusting" but I would describe the odor of the burning cigarette as "noxious" and was something that remained with me even after I stopped puffing on it. The taste was not bad, in fact there was not much flavor/taste at all and it was a "weak hitter" producing little smoke compared to the vapor of even cig-a-likes. My curiosity was satisfied, I will NOT be going back.
