Still no analogs!

I have tried several configurations with my eGo, looking for simplest option for me and my wife. Looking to have to refill the least. Spent way too much money trying different things, but it is better and cheaper than smoking.

Tried regular aty with the PTB mod. This is better than regular carts, but still not great.

I tried a cylinder mega aty and carts. Never got this to work to my satisfaction. The aty would go dry very quickly. I seemed to be filling it as much as regular carts, and it would still go dry. Then it would leak badly. From other posts it looks like it is not wicking properly. Too bad, this is the solution I really wanted to work.

I tried the mega cartos from CigNot. They work ok but are kind of a pain to refill. Two tiny plastic pieces you have to remove and replace properly. I am not sure they wick all that well
either. Pretty fiddly. A bit much to ask of my wife. It has to be simple or she won't do it.

I think I have finally settled on regular 510 cartos with a drip tip. I have to refill a bit more often, but not nearly as much as I was having to with regular carts. The drip tip is more comfortable and makes refilling easy. I just carry a couple of 3ml bottles of juice with droppers and put a half to full dropper full in occasionally. This is working pretty well for me now and I think it will work for the wife.

Thanks for all the info here and keep vaping!

Well... the simple reality is, there is no such thing as an e-cig you never have to fiddle with. Sorry. Just not going to happen. If she wants to quit, she will have to put in a little bit of effort.

That said, maybe try the Kr808D-1. It uses cartomizers (different from the ones you tried for the eGo, no syringe to refill), which don't have to be filled as much as carts. You do have to get more of them - they don't last as long as atties. But that is probably the best fit for her, since you've eliminated every other possibility.

Cartomizers are probably the right answer. and the CE-2s look to be the most hopeful answer anybody is talking about. However they still have issues and problems apparently (though it looks by my read to be more an MFG quality control issue now, the design seems to have been resolved).

Over the next couple months those issues should get resolved and they should become more mainstream...

I wish there was some type of mod that used a juice injection system ( kind of like fuel injection for a car) . You fill up a tank it gets pumped thru the injector onto the atomizer after a set delay so that the atty is ready to produce vapor when the juice hits it. Only problem would be size of such a system and the added drain on the battery to run a pump along with the atty. Maybe someday it would be practical and solve may a vapors cart wooes.

The CE2's are really not ready for the mainstream yet. Especially someone who wants no hassle. I tried them recently, and quite honestly... my regular cartos are better in almost every way.

I was quite disappointed, and the quality control is extremely poor.

Not here.
Maybe I came off too negative. I really think the 510 cartos are going to work quite well.

You could refill them for her if she's not able/willing to do it herself. I imagine 2-3 filled cartos would be enough for a full day.

BTW, If you decide to go this route, I'd advise getting the Boge cartomizers. I purchase from Madvapes.

I agree with the Mistress Nomad regarding the CE2s.

Before you completely write off the eGo mega carts/attys, you might fiddle with them a little more. I have mine working pretty well. I cut the filler down by about a third (vertically) and it wicks a lot better. And it holds an obscene amount of liquid....lasts me several hours. I drive about 45-50 minutes one way every day to work and I always load one up for each way. Once I got the filler a little less dense, it works pretty good. And I absolutely love the amount of vapor it produces. When I have a new, full cart, I get a little gurgle at first for about 10 minutes or so...then it settles in and I really like it. Don't know how much fiddling you already have done, but I have found that esp. for driving where I don't want to have a hassle with changing out anything, the mega cart/atty setup is my ticket.

I use the mega atty and cart for my ego and they work pretty well just a tip fill until you get just a little pool of juice and then dab that pool with a tissue or napkin or some thing until the filler appears just damp no pool and that should allow you to have not over filled.

Same here. It's taken a lot of fiddling but I think I've got it figured out. My best success so far has been with a ~4mm thick strip of blue foam rolled VERY LOOSELY then stuffed in the top and pushed into the corners with some needle point tweazers. No leaking so long as I hit it until the atty gets unflooded right after switching carts.

My main complaint is the shape of the cart at the opening. If I could just shove a small o ring into the damned thing to keep the foam from pushing back and causing that initial flood.

I absolutely can't go back to the LR 510 attys though, just because I can't give up the 2-3ml per cart capacity.

I'm on pretty much the same quit-day as you - although I've been experimenting with e cigs for a while now.

By far the best (that is, the most successful) method I have found is... KISS (keep is simple, stupid!). In other words, don't bother with carts or cartomizers, button-pushing or the endless complex rituals of e-cigging. The closest equivalent to real smoking for me is something I call 'Bare-Backing'... that is - arming yourself with a trusty 'exposed atty' ecig (the auto M401 is my workhorse of choice). Strip out all the padding etc from the mouthpiece 'filter' and trim it way back so the atty bridge is as close as possible to the mouth-end (double the size of the hole as well) and then just accept that each 'smoke' requires a dousing of the atty. This simply involves pulling off the filter (holding it in your teeth is optional), jabbing the atty into a 5ml bottle of your favourite juice and inverting... the whole process takes half-a-second and you can literally do it with your eyes closed (or walking down the street whilst watching the world go by). You get a ciggy's worth of vaping per soak, it is always consistent, and the whole manoeuvre feels very similar to rolling up a handmade, priming a pipe or simply pulling out and lighting an analogue.

As an (ex) smoker, I don't get all this stuff about non-stop drip-feeds, super-long carts and ever-lasting batteries etc. Smoking was never about any of that for me - and I can see how the focus on it might put many people off trying ecigs.

I'll have to try this when I get home tonight.

I find myself vaping all day as well. Sometimes I can go without it, but it is like it is permanently attached to my hand/mouth. I have gotten stronger juice and this seems to help me vape less.

I have the same problem... ordered some higher nic juice, maybe that will help me put it down. :p

Ok, trying it now... so far no leaks and seems to be wicking well enough.

One thing I've noticed, I get MORE vape off the standard atty than I do off the XL, but I kept hearing the exact opposite. Nothing to do with this cart fill, it's been that way since I got it... could it just be this atty?

I am definitely going to try this today. If the mega aty+cart would work it should be ideal, large capacity, aty longer lasting than cartos.

I will definitely try this if cutting the filling back does not work for me.

I have been ordering the 510 cartos from DigitalCiggz. I have both the type A and B. Not sure if either are Boge, but both types seem to work pretty well.
