Hi Sharon and welcome to ECF. You sound like me...Mom smoked while pregnant. Even though I smoked, I never could with my daughter. Cigarette smoke was the only thing that would make me sick. At least my body was protecting her.

Glad you joined us. If you need a question answered, please ask even if you think it's a dumb. The only dumb questions are ones you don't ask.

Wow! Thanks everyone for all the wonderful welcomes. Besides my happiness at finding this place and e-cigs, I am so happy to see so many people that are finding a real way to end their cigarette smoking habit. I want to spread this news to all my friends and family that are still trapped! I can't possibly thank each of you for your wonderful welcome and encouragement on this thread, but know that I appreciate all of your messages. Thank You.

Hi Sharon!

Yes, I remember when doctors would advise pregnant women who didn't smoke to start, to combat nerves and nausea and aid in digestion. All babies were routinely fed by people holding the bottle in one hand and a cigarette in another. I used to say my first one didn't even make me cough, I'd been breathing it in since birth! :)

You'll love it here!

Some of you asked what we started with. I ordered two Riva 510 Lite bundles from Liberty Flights, one for each of us. I ordered a few PG juices, different ones to try, in the small 5 ml bottles, in the med nicotine strength, I think it was about 14MG. I was doing OK but hubby wasn't getting enough bang, so I ordered a few small bottles of VG juice @ 18MG, and a couple of LR atomizers. This seemed to help him a lot. So we are off and running. One of the members here had recommended the Riva 510 Lite bundle, and I have looked for that post but cannot find it. Whoever you are, I thank you greatly, and I am sorry I didn't document your handle. Ordering from Liberty Flights was quite successful. Shipping was quick, and just what we ordered. We are on the west coast (sort of) so their location in San Diego is great for us. I got a couple of extra batteries and I think we are good to go for a good while. I will be out hunting for some other juices (I am liking the Mint VG I got yesterday) that we can enjoy. I know one thing, I can see a future without cigarettes for the first time in my life. For that I am very grateful. Thanks everyone!

Sharon, feels so good doesn't it? I can empathize with your statement about "seeing a future without cigarettes". After 45 years and NOT wanting to quit smoking, the very beginnings of emphysema and my dr. led me here.
Almost 3 months for me! Yay! I'll never go back. I can't believe I'm actually saying that!
Welcome to the fold. Everyone here is a winner!

Welcome Sharon,
You will find plenty of assistance here and vaping is the only way (for some of us anyway) to quit or cut down.
I know it's the only thing that has worked for me and not left me ready to hurt someone.
This is an adventure and I hope you have lots of luck and great fun experimenting. Some days will frustrate you but it all evens out in the end...
Judy

Ann_Marie,

I too was told to just cut back as much as I could as I was high risk and as Lynn said, the stress of quitting can be very bad.
The strange thing is, I didn't smoke with my 1st 2 and #1 was almost 2 months early,
the 2nd one I lost to SIDs; that is when I started smoking like a freight train. The next 3 after I started smoking were full term or very close and healthy weights; go figure!

BTW Sharon,
It's great that your husband is on board too, that certainly has to make it easier all around for both of you. I know when one continues to smoke it makes it harder to deal with and then once your off cigs long enough to regain your old sense of smell, well, all I can say is OMG!
We wonder how anyone stood us even though we thought they were just being rude, lol.
