Resistance wire comes in various forms, Kanthal K A 1 is a Branding, It's not unlike saying I need the Hoover to vacuum the floor, the correct mix type I believe is FeCrAl however I see everyone in here referring to it as KA1 and KA these two types have about 1 Ohm difference per foot for the same guage, there are many resistive wires out there like NLX etc that have approximately the same resistive properties as KA1 but certainly not the temperature rating due to the make up and so in light of that I would not want to be inhaling metal because its breaking down at a low temperature. If the spool you purchased says Kanthal or KA or KA1 or FeCrAl then your good.

All good information, thanks. I found the recommended thread on page on this thread to have a lot of very good information. It's long, but informative. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...nyone-tried-aga-tiamat-plus-w-glass-tank.html

Also, I ordered Kanthal from Silicawicks.com. I keep reading people say, " Kanthal A-1 xx AWG. Mine does not say A-1 anywhere. Does this matter??

i just went to silicawicks and looked around. i got 2 rolls of wire for what you paid for 1. i bought a 100 ft roll of 36ga, and 32ga, it was $18 straight from temco
