I have an AGAt+. I have used both the Petar method and also wrapped the coil directly. I can't seem to get the oms past 1.2-1.8. I am using 32 gauge kanthal and 500 ss mesh. I would like to get to around 2.4. Any ideas? Also, The AGA t+ has a negative screw, fill screw, and wickl hole. What is the third screw and the post for? are there other wick configurations that can be used?

I watched Petar K's video, and Pbusardo's and gave my first coil a try. The coil came out to 2.1 ohms on a Provari. I've tried it from 3 volts up to 4 volts and all I get is a very foul burnt smell, so bad it burns my nostrils. I didn't even try vaping it. I don't have any hot spots. Any ideas?

Your mesh is too loose in the coil. Unroll it a bit or add more. When you insert into the coil there should be a bit resistance. (Make sure your mesh is washed and squeaky clean before rolling.) Just taking a guess based upon your post :2c:

^to the last two answers. If you have no hot spots, twist your mesh wick so it opens up a bit and makes more coil contact. I would also try unwrapping a coil or two. IMO gennys perform better at lower ohms and you can go to at least 1.0 ohm easy with your Provari. What gage wire are you using? I prefer 30 AWG kanthal, it's more forgiving.

Thanks... I made a few more wraps and the resistance is now 2.2.

the other post is a neg connection point for a silica build or whatever else you may want to use it for. Without modifying it you really only have single wick/coil options. To get a higher resistance using the same gage wire add more wraps

Did you "pulse" it into submission? I was having an awful time getting my coil above 1.5 ohms, even with 9/10 wrap of 32g kanthal. Finally I pulsed until all the hotspots worked themselves out (it did take a lil poking and prodding) and now that same coil reads 2.8 ohms, till I go thru about 6ml of juice, then the gunk interferes and a dry burn is needed.
