I've been rockin' a 1ohm micro coil for about the last three weeks and noticed I was getting some burnt flavor and decided to change my wick and coil. The nuts on the positive post are all burnt with gunk like the coil gets over time, the bottom nut is stuck completely. I managed to get the other two off some how. Somehow the wire was heating up between the nuts and cooking my liquid...

I just did my first ever coil and stainless wick that comes with the AGA-T2. It ended up around 2.5 ohm and after tweaking to get an even glow on all the wraps I notice the first half wrap and over to the center post glows bright orange and I can't seem to do anything to prevent that.

Is that normal? If not then maybe M4n and I have the same problem. Any suggestions out there?

That leg of wire is under too much tension. When you tighten your top nut, it sometimes pulls the wire over. Relieve that tension by tightening with a combination of top nut tightening and 2nd nut "back-tightening"; while keeping an eye on wire tension. A little too loose is better at first. Then you can ease up to just-right-tight.
