So, I got my new AGA yesterday and, having read lots of ya-all's threads, I have a plan . . . PLEASE tell me if there's somefin' bad about it. (You know a person can't wait THAT long to start drilling!) Wick hole will become permanent (unclosable) fill hole. Screw hole next to negative wire post (silica wick post?) will become new ss mesh wick hole. I will drill out existing threading in this hole, giving me approx. 3mm hole for wick. Will use negative post for coil and compensate for shorter coil with gauge of Nichrome. Using ss washer from inside Vivi Nova silica post cap as platform on positive post to close the gap between wick and post. Existing air hole is less than 1mm, will start by drilling out to 1/32, then 3/64. What do you think? Thanks.

Let me preface this by saying that I am not giving you any recommendations. :D
I got mine and befire I even fired it up, I got out the drill. I drilled my wick hole out to 1/8. Drilled my air hole to 3/64. The stock air hole was 1/32 on mine. Its a keeper. I cant tell you about dual wicks because I dont run them. I do suggest you check clearances on everything before you drill anything.

Thanks, 45root. Yeah, I'm definitely going to go 3/64 on air hole. I'm not going dual wick (yet) though; just switching sides. What this means is that, when the existing wick hole becomes my fill hole and vent, I'm stuck with it. Do you leave your fill hole screw out when you vape? Will I regret not being able to close my fill hole?

I do not leave my fill holes open on any of my genesis attys. I roll fat solid wicks and they keep up with me even when I hold it straight up. as long as there is a fair amount of juice along the wick, its great. I think you should at least try it as it is before you change the layout. I just have to ask why you are changing sides?

btw, I have to add this. I am a noob at this. I dont mean to speak as if I were an expert.

Well, its a little silly, as these things often are (people left to their own devices, and what); I read where a lot of people were leaving out the fill-hole screw, so I thought of that as an option for a wick hole. Its a bit looser than the existing wick hole (even with the threading). Then I thought that drilling out the threading would be easier than expanding the solid wick hole. Then I thought, someday, maybe, double wicks . . . That's why I posted, for someone to ring the bell of reason, and maybe you just did.

Final 001.jpgI used a Dremel (clone also) with diamond dust bits ($10 kit Harbor Freight) to enlarge the wick and air hole(s).
With a wick on each side you will want 2 air holes.
I have some little silicone plugs salvaged from "Buddy" cleaoromizers to plug the other wick/fill hole during transport, I have removed a few of those coils since picture was taken but you can see the plug back there
No expert here either.
