So I've been trying to get a good build on my AGA T3. I'm not getting the consistent flavor and clouds I would expect from a rebuildable. It seems to struggle to produce vapor most of the time. I've watched all the YouTube vids. Tried silica, ecowool, and now have a mesh wick (as one video advised making a fatter ss wick with hole in middle to fill.) I was initially using 30 or 32 kanthal but could not build below 3 ohms with only three wraps. Talked to a guy at my local B&M who wasn't much help. Tried building with 28 gauge wire and my ss wick. With 4 wraps I can get it to 2.4 but as I fire it drops to 1.8, then under 1 ohm. The first fire produces solid vapor but it quickly fizzles out. I've tried it on my mech, Vamo, eVic, and SVD all with the same result. I took the AGA apart, cleaned and reassembled with no improvement. Any advice?

I have not used a AGA T3. I'm very comfortable with the AGA-T2 using 400 or 500 SS mesh on mech mods. My preferred build is 27 gauge Kanthal, 3/4 wrap at 0.6 - 0.7 ohms with a hollow wick (small hole, some tilt required but not much and not always). Air hole drilled to 3/32" or 2.4mm. Flavor and vapor are great with lung hits. Mouth hits are not good for me with this setup.

Some questions for you. Are you experienced with and successful with other Genisis devices or is this your first one? Do you know how to tilt the device to achieve the juice flow you want? Is there a fill hole in this puppy and if so, is a plug installed or not?

28 gauge Kanthal with 4 wraps will not be above 1 ohm. I think you are not measuring coil resistance correctly. How are you measuring it?

Are you getting hot spots (shorts) during SS wick and coil setup? If so, how are you getting rid of them?

Thanks for your reply. I just tried a rebuild with my 28 gauge wrapping 6 or 7 times. Torched the coil and cooled it. (Someone else said this can help with fluctuation in resistance and hot spots.) put it on my ohm meter and it came out at 2.3. Vaped for a few minutes and it work OK with medium cloud but solid warm flavor. After this the resistance dropped to 1.5 or 1.6 with vaping it being the only change. When cooled the resistance went back to 1.9 and then back again to 1.5 once heated up again by vaping. No noticeable hotspots or shorts to speak of. Kicked it up to 12-14 W and it seems to be vaping like a charm. Just wondering about the initial high ohm reading and drop after usage.
