I started vaping at the beginning of the summer. Right before I started, I had a case of thrush. It seems to me like when I started, the thrush came back. Especially after a day of heaving vaping, I notice it seems worse again. Is it possible that my vaping makes the thrush worse? I've been vaping 50/50 pg/vg, between 12 and 18 mg nicotine. I wasn't a smoker prior to this

I got a prescription medicine when it first started, and I had it refilled when it came back. It didn't seem to help very much the second time, but by then I was vaping daily. Which is another reason I believe the vaping is probably not helping. And thanks iamthevoice, I really should remember to drink a lot more water

If you have the swish & spit med you may need something stronger.
Although, you said you were not a smoker previously so I suppose you could try not vaping for a while and see if it goes away.

It's probably a combination of the drying aspect of the vaping in addition to the irritation from the nicotine. You may also be sensitive to PG. When I first started vaping in March I was using a 50-50 VG/PG blend and after a few days of heavy vaping I was experiencing a ton of tongue and throat irritation. After I switched to a good quality vendor with 100% VG I have had no issues with this. Do you have oropharyngeal (mouth and throat) or just oral (mouth, tongue) thrush? You should be using a swish and swallow nystatin for the first or a swish and spit nystatin for the second. If neither of those have work for you you may need to do that in addition to an oral anti-fungal. Consult your Dr for more details. Make sure you follow the medication instructions and use it for the full course of treatment. Also make sure that you are cleaning your tank and drip tip thoroughly and frequently to make sure you are not re-infecting yourself.

Yeah I was just thinking that about making sure the drip tips and/or tanks without removable drip tips are well cleaned and sanitized. After my go-round with appendicitis/appendectomy and a round of antibiotics, I suffered this very aggravating problem myself; making sure there is no candida fungus remaining in the tips/tanks is crucial.

Activia yogurt can help a great deal; the same probiotics that help your innards can also get rid of thrush, by re-establishing the native, helpful bacteria in your mouth.

one thing i have noticed after many DIY experiments - PG drys out my mouth and sinuses, and VG leaves a "glazed layer" in my mouth like i can feel it coated. Nic if over 18MG, will make my throat bleed.

but thats just me. no one else ive talked to, notices the "layer" of whatever it is, that vg seams to leave in my mouth

I notice it, but in my lungs! It feels like a hairball that's been glued down and I can't get rid of it by any means, except returning to a high-PG ejuice.

Hi, I've noticed that I get dry mouth a lot and now I see that some people who vape recognize this as a little problem. I quit smoking tobacco but I've replaced it with vaping...and I hope I wont kill myself vaping because I DO vape ALOT and I refuse to stop vaping. When my mouth gets really dry...I keep Trident spearmint gum handy and it helps a lot.

They will have to pry my E-ciggies from my cold dead hands!

They'll have to pry my own away too. But when you get a dry mouth... that's a signal that you need hydration. I drink all kinds of stuff all day, and have cut down about 90% on caffeine, but anytime I feel a dry mouth, I drink some water before I get anything else to drink or put anything in my mouth. Dehydration is no laughing matter and neither is electrolyte imbalance, especially when it gets so bad your ankles swell into cankles; vaping can cause a serious problem with all that.

Me too. My meds cause dry mouth also. It used to be a big problem for me. Now I drink 6 bottles water, 2 bottles Gatorade, only 1 cup coffee in a.m. Gotta stay hydrated. Biotene rinse helps, there's also lozengers by ACT for dry mouth. They won't melt if u leave them in the car n that's cool. My husband carries sugar free cinnamon drops he swears by them, lemon drops help too. Water Water Water
