Oh and make sure you blow out all the water before reassembling that is a key point. I've left water in those holes and almost went mad trying to figure out why I was getting no vapor and lots of gurgling. That is the most important part of this process. I just put my mouth over each hole including the one just under the coil and blow really hard. Also make sure the seal for the cap which mates with the top of the stack is there. Can't tell you how many of those have got washed down the drain during cleaning. If thats missing the rba will flood for sure. If you don't have any PM me and I'll send a few. I buy them by the hundred. I've also used an insulator from an old T3 coil which works great and if you shove the shaft of the insulator into the cap it will never come out or wash away.

If your seals are bad it won't create the vacuum. I almost lost the little o-ring that goes on the under side of the top cap (the one that seals the chimney). You can tell if one of your seals are bad by covering the air hole and taking a puff, you should get nothing if the seals are good (like sucking on a straw that your covering the bottom of). Good Luck Will!

Cheers,
Steve

Haha I usually try new toys right away. I opened it but with those lIttle screws and my old eyes -- I use a hobby magnifier lamp that's clamped on a work table. Figured id save it for a little mental therapy when I need a break from work this week.

I've been focused on yummy tobacco extracts.

I'll be sure to report back once I get it built. And if it gurgles I'm sure you'll be hearing from me! :D

Claire, I gave mine a good cleaning before my first build. I used some soapy water then put it in some inexpensive vodka for good measure. I'm guessing a UC would work as well if you have one. Some of the clones have a slight remant of the machine oil.

Cheers,
Steve

PS I love mine, basically all I use anymore, inside or outside. Mine normally resides on a MVP2, great combination IMO.

Thanks for reminding me. When I opened the box it does have a metal smell. No drinking for me but I do have vodka here just for cleaning select vape supplies :)

Got a second vamo v5 just for the occasion. I look forward to using the kayfun.

I also use the V5 for the kayfun works great just don't wrap your coil sub ohm. The v5 don't support it. The coil needs to be 1.2 ohm or higher.

thanks , I dont get it . I just opened up the airhole all the way . just took the screw out. helped some but still floods. maybe thats the problem. the one I am vaping now was 7% flavoring, 5% water and 8% pg. the rest was VG and VG nic. the 20/80 pg/vg vapest great. 50/50 vapes great. if I add any amount of water it destroys everything. just want a tad more TH in my mixes and for it to not get so thick when its cold outside. I was way up in the mountains today and my juice was to thick and got some dry hits during the day. starting to think dry hits might be better lol. or antifreeze. I bet its my stupid tank but I am not giving this up ha.

If it floods, doesnt that mean the liquid is too thin? What happens if you dont water it down?

Also, saline? Really? Why and who told you to do that? The salt doesnt vaporize and will clog the coil. It WILL burn, however, and that cant be a good thing.

Lots of us use 0.9% saline at around 5% to help counteract dryness!

It doesn't always mean the mix is to thin. It could be a problem with seals on the hardware or any number of other things. Saline or DW is quite commonly used in mixes. I even use it in some 60vg/40pg mixes which vape just fine in my kayfun. It all depends on what your mixing.

How? Salt doesnt evaporate or vaporize... Even if it did, you dont breath it. Or drink it. If you drink it, it actually makes you MORE thirsty. Thats why you dont drink seawater.. 0.9% Saline is used in IV's because your blood is salty (0.9%) and to replace electrolytes..

And people wonder why others question our 'science'...

Distilled water is fine.. I can see that... But salt water (saline)?

I don't find that saline changes the taste I just find it sooths the throat a little better then the DW. After a long day of vaping my throat gets dry and raspy and I find saline helps with that.

Perhaps you should question your own 'science'? What has been used in nebulizers to create vapor/mist for direct, therapeutic lung inhalation (and/or mixing with meds) for decades? saline solution. What has been used for decades/centuries to increase hydration in the mouth & sinuses? saline solution. The hydration/dehydration factor is in the strength & quantity of the solution. Doubt it? Put a few drops of .9% saline solution on your tongue when your mouth is extremely dry/parched - instant saliva - hydration. Do it repeatedly in larger amounts? dehydration.

If saline solution were always dehydrating, it wouldn't commonly be used in IVs for the express purpose of hydration.

It does vaporize when mixed with vg/pg - it can be easily tasted if one uses 'more than enough'.
