Not even close. These mega threads turn into a social gathering with a smattering of the original topic thrown in. If folks want to create a social environment around a particular product, that's why the Social Groups are there. But we've been getting far too many complaints about these mega threads being difficult to find information in.
As I told rabernet. It's perfectly fine to have a thread regarding a particular company. But when it turns into more of a social gathering than a discussion of the product itself, General E-Liquid Discussion is not the place for it.
Thank you for your participation in this thread, the outstanding job that you and your team do, and for creating a marvelous venue which remains a professional operation. When I was younger /lol I owned and ran (for over 7 years) one of the largest Professional affiliate and vendor specific Communities in the world (1K posts per day). It was the dawn of affiliate marketing to be more specific and a number of my members became millionaires as a direct result of the Community which they created and I guided with lots of help. I am well acquainted with the issues that you face and the delicate balancing act. I'm not surprised at the complaints and in some cases they
may be justified for other threads and in other cases they are simply part of the "Forum Culture". Please excuse my self promotion but I wanted to provide some context for additional thoughts.
SharonMM is absolutely and emphatically correct. Period. She said:
Well to be fair, if you review OUR thread, you will see that it is mostly on-topic discussion, with a light smattering of other related topics, such as the gear we use to enjoy our Ahlusion liquids. There arent any "good mornings", "good night's", "hey how you doing, how was your day?" types of posts here. So I don't think its fair to lump us in with the other vendor threads, because I think we've done a pretty good job keeping it relevant.
I would not be a participant or even a lurker in this thread if it morphed into the kind of posts which you are trying to limit. Generally speaking for this thread, if a new poster drops in with an issue, she or he gets a number of answers or thoughts. In spite of the fact that the very same issue has been discussed on multiple pages. That's on topic, courtesy and respect. Go up a few posts
