I can not recall the last time, if ever, I found that a newspaper story accurately represented the science of any study in any field. Without methodology there is no science. There are simply no facts in the NYT story that would justify not dismissing it totally and completely out of hand.

Absent facts, I strongly share Dr. Farsalinos' suspicions that the study's findings may be in the context of unvapable dry hits. A dry coil can reach higher temperatures than a fully saturated coil can. I await the facts of the study as published in a peer reviewed journal before drawing conclusions. However, I'm not terribly optimistic that the study will have used methodology that has produced anything but theoretical data that will be close to useless on a practical level.

I agree somewhat. Conclusions of newspaper stories on scientific studies could be inaccurate for many different reasons ( lack of understanding, having a specific agenda, emphasizing or reporting on selected parts of the study etc... ). But it's a starting point.

It's good to be skeptical, but there is a line we should be careful not to cross. Assuming every study with an undesired result is complete nonsense, and assuming the worst intentions, when you don't have all the facts, is dangerous. By all means, we should approach with a skeptical attitude, but not with a pre-set determination to debunk and disprove. And it isn't easy, i know, based on the track record of media in this regard.

I am not accusing you or anyone else here commenting on the studies, of having crossed that line, mind you. We should just be vigilant in not doing so, is all.

Well, I see ecf has a new sticky posted in regards to sub-ohming e liquids. Ecf has done a good job of staying ahead of the game when it comes to any vaping-related issues. Overall, I've always been impressed with how we the consumers and manufacturers have policed ourselves since the start, with absolutely no government interference.

Which thread has the sticky? I didn't see it in my search. Thanks!

Here's my latest Ahlusion review. I loved, loved, loved Caramel Wild Wood. Shipwreck was good, but there are several Ahlusion tobaccos I like more. Vanilla Black Tea I thought I would love, but I ended up only liking it. Let's compare notes on these juices when you have a chance. I know there are many CWW fans here, but I don't recall much about the other two juices.

RPad -- I have tried Shipwreck and really like it. Not as well as Just Criminal or Smooth Criminal .. but it is good.

I'm right there with you on all three of these.
CWW is my main squeeze.
VBT came in my very first order and I had high hopes. I really liked at first, and I still do, but it wound up being kind of one dimensional compared to other A+ liquids.
Shipwreck: like it pretty well, but prefer CWW, Vecchio, and Swt VA more. It's an occasional treat.

Aha! Another LFR convert! :):):)

Elenaor -- Not big on coffee vapes but looks like I will have to try that one as well. I tried some Kona from another vendor and it tasted like it could have been Kopi Luwak, (the cat poop coffee) but with the poop still in it. ewww. :(

Great review and I agree on the Caramel Wild Wood since it is a favorite of mine which also includes the Vanilla and Maple Wild Woods.

We are opposite on the Vanilla Black Tea since this is also a favorite of mine in a big way. I personally like the extra Vanilla which you thought was too much. I also recognize that we use much different equipment.

I loved Shipwreck when I first tried it but I believe that I have a sensitivity to Coconut vapes so I had to discontinue it.
