Vendor: Ahlusion
Liquid: Yerba Mate unsweetened
Description: This is our take on a light smokey Yerba Mate tea for our exotic tea drinkers.Setup: Dripping on atomizer with 18350 mod
Thoughts:
To add to the description of the flavor: "the flavor of brewed mate is strongly vegetal, herbal, and grassy, reminiscent of some varieties of green tea. Some consider the flavor to be very agreeable, but it is generally bitter if steeped in boiling water." Yerba Mate is an herbal tea grown in South America. It has a similar flavor to the straw you may have chewed on a hay ride.

I was first introduced to Yerba Mate from an intern that brought some back from Argentina. I was instantly hooked. I have many varieties of the tea including the plain version and variations from Teavana. It has the same caffeine as coffee but with more healthy qualities. Knowing that Ahlusion extracts from the actual tea I had to try this one.

Although the tea is green the color of the liquid is a very light brown. The smell is very grass-like. On inhale the grassy/hay flavor comes heavily onto the palate. On exhale the same flavor comes out with a bitter aftertaste. Since this is extracted from the actual tea the flavor is exact.

For 6mg throat hit is strong and vapor production is good as well.

Final Thoughts:
Yerba Mate is Yerba Mate. A flavor that you either love or hate this is a liquid that lives truly up to its name. I love the tea and also love the liquid. Though the liquid does not possess that benefits the tea creates then you must love the flavor in order to enjoy it. With total authenticity to the original, even though this is not an all day vape for me, I have to give it 10/10.

Wow, that sounds like a really interesting flavor. Never drank (or heard of) Yerba Mate tea. Sounds like a must try vape for me, I do enjoy grassy/hay tastes in a vape. One thing I love about Ahlusion's drink vapes, and especially their teas, is that you get EXACTLY what you expect if you've had the drink before. Chai Latte blew me away with it's authenticity.

Did it have a true chai flavor to it or just cinnamony base?
OP great job I defiantly want to try some. Thanks.

Definate true chai without any singular spice taking over. I drink quite a bit of chai, and usually order chai latte at coffee shops, and this nailed the flavor.

This REALLY is good stuff. I grabbed some on a whim and didn't know what to expect. The first few days where just ok, but the 2nd week brought soon much flavor to the forefront that I vaped the 10mils in 2 days. I thought about adding sweetener but glad I didn't, I think it would've made it too similar to my plain boba tea. I'm not a tea connoisseur, so I don't have much perspective here but I've put this in my top 5. Its a nice change from bobas, boba tea, c&d, and hush.

Ahlusion stuff, maybe more than other juices, really, really does love steeping - even the "easy" flavors that are very good immediately become absolutely amazing over time. The Pineapple Upside Down Cake (my favorite desert), which I did very much like out of the box, is possibly the best juice I've ever tasted after three weeks. Just luscious, very authentic. And I'm not usually given to hyperbole. The Orange Nocturne, a much trickier flavor, keeps getting richer and more interesting, too - it reminds me of an orange creme brulee with slightly scorched caramelized sugar and curls of dark chocolate. Vlad's a fascinating and excellent flavorist. I'll give that Mata a try.

I made some real yerba mate this morning at work. SO GOOD!!!!

This slipped through me... Since mate is notoriously a social activity, in most workplaces it's forbidden. I used to sneak down to the factory to have some, factory workers always had some hidden and going constantly...

I HAVE to try it, hope Ahlusion sends to Baires!

This has me intrigued! I drink a great deal of yerba mate (I'm not a purist -- I generally add sweetener). But the flavor doesn't necessarily transfer well between formats -- the Germans have created a fizzy yerba mate soft drink that repulses me! (It's much beloved by students due to its high caffeine content). So I'd love to see what this vapes like.

For those who have never tried it, it's a relative of holly, and sort of has a taste reminiscent of the smell of dried holly.

Well, Wlad extracts all caffeine and tannin out of teas and coffee, so none of that here.

I had a little bit of it and liked it. Now, I would have to get my own bottle to really speak on it because sometimes samples only tell you if you have an interest further, but not so much of being able to acutely talk about the juice. Katdarling said it best with her thoughts on impressions vs. assessments. If I get a chance to try this flavor at the soft opening, I'll give more of my impressions until I get an actual bottle.
