Dang what kinda cigs did you all smoke? Mine were almost 7 bucks per pack. 4-5 packs per week or 28-35 per week.

Marlboro Special Blend Lights. If I purchased by the pack is was ~$4.00 per pack. they may have gone up a little since (8 months ago) then but I still see signs at QT for $39.99 for carton of camels, etc.

bluecat,,,,,missouri atm has low tobacco tax,,but after the election it might change,,i voted early and voted it down, but i am only one vote.

we always vote it down,,but it keeps coming back at us.

our tax is .17 a pack,,but they want to run it up to a dollar,,now i am only talking about state tax here.

4 years ago the feds hit us hard, but i don't remember what it was,

even though i don't smoke i will keep voting it down,,,they don't mess with the booze tax,,now i would vote to raise that,as i have not had a drink of alcohol in over thirty years.

i think booze kills a lot more people then smoking does,,just my view.

I recently moved back to the People's Republic of Maryland after living in North Carolina for 3 years. In NC, ciggies are about the same price they are where you are. We used to joke that in NC they practically PAY you to smoke. But here in NC, premium brands like Camels are often in excess of $7/pack, and imports like Nat Shermans can get into the $10/pack range.

So even at MD prices, I'll admit that I've spent WAY more in my first two weeks of using e-cigs that I would spend on analogs even if I was smoking the most expensive ciggies I could find. But that's not the point.

The point is that we're NOT smoking cigarettes anymore. And THAT is a good thing--at any price...

Saving yourself from smoking is the best thing ! :) Honestly, I am so glad I quit cigarettes altogether, because it just feels so good to off them, and like others have been saying, once you get settled down, you will start to see savings, it's just the novelty of having all the products to try, but soon you will have your set up, and you will start saving! :D

I thought maybe you were getting them at a commisary. Thats cheap. My wife sees all my credit card purchases and gave me the evil eye one day. Then i told her what i spent on smokes per week and she was floored. I had always paid cash. She has since stopped giving me that look, but did ask why i couldn't pay cash. Thats when i tried to get an si store near me. Well the new nicquid place will be close so i guess that is good enough.

I am a tax guy and completely forgot about the cig tax. I am surorised it varies as o much. That does make sense with medicare, the new healthcare and all that good stuff that has the irs confused.

I am not convinced smoking or drnking kills someone. It may contribute but isnt the sole factor. I said in previous post that we just celebrated a family members birthday who beat the bad cancer. Well we got bad news it is back. She never drank or smoked. I am sure if she smoked they would have blamed it.

Sorry for bad typing..dang tablet and i am tired.:)

In NJ Marlboro packs go for $8+. The cheapest I can get a carton is $77... I've only been vaping a couple of weeks, but after a PAD for 26 years, I figure I will be saving money after 2 months.

Yup... Not saving anything here... and probably never will. I made my own cigarettes. My bag of tobacco cost me $15 a month and my filtered tubes cost me $5 a month.. So I was smoking for a little under $25.00 a month. Vaping.. If i wasn't buying new mods and new tanks and new accessories each week, like I am, lol, I'd probably spend about $5 to $10 a week on juice? Or maybe every 2 weeks? So, I don't think vaping will ever save me money sadly... On top of this fact.. I never bought my own tobacco or tubes.. My mom bought them for me. With vaping, my mom refuses to buy me vaping supplies or juice because she doesn't like using her credit card online. -___-
