Last night I rebuilt some Protank heads with microcoils and cotton yarn. They worked awesome, but quickly realized they'd be even better if I could improve the draw on my SVD. Flush mounting my Protank 2 on the SVD delivers a tight/slow draw. Loosening it a tad improves the draw, but my .... retentive-ness insists that a tank be tight and flush mounted.
This wasn't really my idea, as I found a video recommending using the included Protank beauty ring on a Vamo, but a Protank beauty ring will not fit inside the top beauty cap of an SVD....
....but a Nova style beauty ring does.

The nova beauty ring must be screwed in over the SVD ring because it will not pass by the SVD beauty ring threads.

Screw it down so that it is just above flush with the 510 connection/SVD ring. I've found that there is a fine line between improved air flow and no connection at the 510.

I'd say the draw is nearly doubled compared to flush mounting a protank on the SVD, and the connection is tight and pretty!
