i'm using somewhere between 0.8mm - 1.2mm for my genny tanks.. drill bits need to get at hobby shops and u can get a pin vise for manual drilling or hook up to a dremel or rotary tool to drill in.

How did you drill yours out?? I'm thinking of trying 1.2 on one of my igo l's first to see if i like it then do it for the other as well as my genny

I used pin vise and successfully drilled RSSTs by .5mm increment until I like the draw. I tried to drill out Igo L and didn't have any luck. That ....t was hard and thick. May have to dremel it.

Pin vise is also very good for micro coil rolling. I put the right size drill upside down with the wire and tighten it down and then wrap the micro coil around the drill bit. Very easy since one side of the wire is tightened down.

Personally I got a cobalt drill set for drilling through stainless. Makes it much easier. Took seconds versus minutes for the hss drill bit when drilling out the igo l hole.

Other tips for drilling, use low speed but more force when drilling through stainless. Too fast and you'll end up hardening the steel more.

And if you realize after drilling for a while that you're not making any progress then your bit needs sharpening. Hss bits need sharpening more frequently compared to cobalt.

And like dragon said use increments in size to achieve your desired final size. I drilled out my igo l to 2mm. Just about right for me.

But I don't know carbide bits are good for SS anot. they cut thru FR4 like butter though.

Carbide bits are good for titanium, but not good for SS. Carbide wears out fast with SS. Cobalt bits are the only ones for SS, unless you try to put 3mm air holes (you can probably use HSS if you're gonna go above 3mm).
