Hi, all. I'm new to the group. I have been vaping for 9 months after being a pack and a half a day smoker for 20 yrs. The only issues I had with vaping were dry throat and sinus irritation. For the past few days I have been having some more alarming reactions: heart racing, muscle weakness and spasms in my arms, chest tightness, all worse when trying to sleep. I actually only slept 2 hrs last night because these symptoms caused anxiety. Anyone else have these issues? Please help!!!!

Simple answer is: No.

If those symptoms began suddenly after vaping for 9 months, why would you now attribute them to vaping?

What else has changed? Have you made a change in the nic concentration of your liquid? Are you being treated for any medical conditions and had a change in medication or dosage?

Your symptoms sound like a possible cardiac issue. I think you should consult your physician.

Sounds to me like a bit of a power vapor and getting a nic buzz. Learn not to inhale every vape, mouthing a vape isn't as effective as lung hits but still get nic but not as much. Massive cloudz lung hit can trigger a nic OD cause the nic has to be absorbed into the blood, not instant like ciggy smoke is so there is no "Ahhh" feeling after the vape. Taking several repetitive cloudz vape affects you after it enters the bloodstream in a few minutes, thats why you take it easy with the first morning vapes so you don't get a headache and OD symptoms.
Dry mouth and throat is the sweetness of the juice and/or the additives they can put in it. The juice dries out the mouth thus fooling the brain into thinking your always thirsty, the same effect as your usually more thirsty after drinking that can of pop than you were before. DIY juice using no sweeteners then that constant drymouth unquenchable and can't even spit cotton thirst went away and one drinks normally again.

Go to a doctor, no one here can diagnose you as we're not you. Since it's lasted days, I'm gonna guess anxiety and/or stress along with who knows what. If it was directly vape related it would happen all the time, especially during the day as you are vaping, not when you've quit and are trying to sleep.

A doctor is the only person who can tell you, only other alternative is to not vape, smoke or dip and see if it stops but I'm not a doctor so I have no clue, lol.

Do NOT attempt to diagnose the difference between a heart attack and anxiety BY EXERCISING. That would be fine if it IS anxiety, not so fine if it's a heart attack!!!!

I have no idea why your body is doing what it is doing, but I find it troubling that you attribute it to vaping, first and foremost, when you should be headed toward an urgent care, not posting on a vaping forum.

Regardless of any previous advice we are not doctors and you aren't describing things very clearly at all. Do not pass go, go consult a medical professional.

It MAY be related to your vaping, but I would rule out any other problems first.

I asked myself that question before I posted, I read the original post again afterwards and hoped it was not a heart attack as I had one myself at 48, and lost my father when he had one at 48.......my hope is that truly someone having severe symptoms as he described would be calling 911 and not posting here on ecf as an ecig forum would be the last thing on my mind and regardless of the cause of my symptoms I'd seek immediate emergency help

Not one time has some health problem popped up have I considered vaping the cause. I usually attribute it back to being smoking related. I smoked for around 46 years and can't believe much of anything else would cause issues.

I had a several issues that bothered me for a little while. Sore throat pretty much immediately. Weird thing in my left ear that muted sounds for a couple of days. Aching teeth for a couple of days, also. None of these all at the same time. That was over 4 years ago. The only thing that remains is a dry, raspy voice sometimes. I try to remember to drink lots of water.

All that said, I haven't been sick at all since before July 2, 2013, whereas I used to have horrible bronchitis 2-4 times a year, for years and years. I smoked for ~45 years, ugh.

Welcome and glad you joined.
A doctor visit may be in order.

Some do have various reactions to different things. If I vape 100% VG liquid regularly I will get a pretty severe chest tightness, and yes, severe enough to inhibit sleep. It's not a good feeling. I usually vape 70pg/30vg and have no problems. Like others have mentioned it's always ideal to see a doctor for serious symptoms, no one hear can help with that. I would suggest though, that if you are going to experiment with different liquid make ups, give it some time to see if there are any changes in the effects. It took me about a week and a half to get back to normal after changing form using 100% vg. Good luck

U.K.
I was in hospital yesterday with very similar symptoms. I just started vaping quite recently. It never occurred to me that the two might be related but since you've been vaping for 9 months before this happened, that's actually reassuring to me that they're not.

I'm not a troll btw. I'm just telling the truth.
