Hello,

This is an odd question, but is there a possibility of failing a breathalyzer test due to using an electronic cigarette as the liquid contains small amounts of alcohol?

Actually I think that's a good question. I have absolutely no idea what the answer is.

think fresh breath sprays...same kinda thing really. Never heard of any stories of failing breath tests tho.

I can't imagine that there would be any danger of failing a breathalyser because of vaping ....but I sure wouldn't like to find out I was wrong.

Okay everyone, I have access to a breathalyzer, I just tested myself. I have been vaping pretty heavy all day.(about 3ml) I vap with A DYI juice that I add tequila as a thinning agent. I took 10 deep vaps then tested.
Breathalyzer tested negative.

If I got a positive out of Vaping, I'd have to sue the company that made the breathalizser and the cops...and demand a BLOOD test to prove I wasn't loaded.

Next step for science - quaff lots of wine and see if vaping liquorice masks the wicked alcohol!

And since this is in the name of research,I think I need to go to the bar have about five bottles of beer and vap 5ml of Juice and come back and test again That way I can see what the result of drinking and vaping are. Again this is the name of research that I am willing to object myself to such abuse.

gnsmth was wondering what blowing the vapor into the analyzer would do? Don't break your tester trying it out though those things aren't cheap. BTW yours isn't attached to your vehicle by any chance is it? Just kidding! LOL

lol ....forget the liquorice ..quaffing lots of wine might be nice.

I didn't think there would be any danger of failing a breathalyser from vaping but stranger things have happened. So I am glad someone tested it.
