I was married on a leap year. I wanted the 29th. Hubby insisted on the 28th... I gave in, but think how odd it would be to tell people it's our 10th anniversary instead of our 40th! We married very young...

Trick?

Filled with the heady arrogance of overconfidence and triumph the Smear Witch looked over her shoulder at the fledgling. His struggles against the oily pool only propelled him closer to the edge. Then the external sound of claws against stone distracted her. Something was tearing away the opening. One tremendous green eye peered into the opening and looking in recognition filled it and it turned into a slit of righteous anger! The fledgling's left wing was starting to reach out over the edge of the tapered rock, and it started to crumble, only so slightly sandy clouds falling from it into the Nillian! The evil sorcererss rushed to the small guillotine and began to fasten the Black Dot in it! Suddenly the small opening exploded as rock, dust, and COPYRIGHTDMCA flew. Some COPYRIGHTDMCA struck the hand of the nefarious necromancer but she still managed to close the guillotine, and it's paw securing stock, about her prey. Then there was one moment of silence and the sound of very deep breathing. Then a very deep, very loud, growl was heard. It raised up into a whine, then a near howl, then a screech. There in the cloud of settling dust and rock was a Giant Sabre toothed Lynx! Her orangish fur was accented by white about her ears, eyes, breast and claws. About her neck hung a tremendous golden chain and an amazing blue carbuncle diamond, a small fleck of white in its center, hung there, dangling and swaying for an instant. Then the Smear Witch turned around.

The fledgling's slide had slowed but he edged ever closer to the hole that dropped into sure oblivion. The Giant Manx like creature's eyes narrowed, her ears laid, back and her tail wrapped outward forming a semi-ring about the altar and the Witch. The Smear Witch sprang forward at the monster cackling, incanting, undulating, and exuding a stench of repulsion and revulsion. The Giant Lynx extended her claws, and hopped forward her tail stretching out farther, reaching, reaching for the fledgling; The Black Dot had begun to mew in terror. Then the broom of the Smear Witch met the Claw of the Black Dot's Dam! The Dam extended her tail gingerly, oh so softly toward the fledgling, but he was starting to fall! The blade, on the miniature guillotine began an ascent as the Smear Witch flipped forward her smeary claws, unusually clear, going for the eyes of the Lynx! Then in a quick move, that only a cat could have performed, The Black Dot's dam opened her maw and impaled the Smear Witch clearly through her middle, with one of her large sabre teeth, as she was just reaching the apex of her attacking arch, and she began to shake the Smear Witch.

A look of disgust, horror, and woe defined the face of the giant cat. She began to gag as she shook the shrieking Witch back and forth, while still trying to extend her life line of a tail to the fledgling. The guillotine blade was still rising but had slowed in its ascent. The Giant Lynx flipped around, and struck the guillotine, The Black Dot and all, and shot her tail out to the fledgling! The Smear Witch was becoming more and more distinct. Her cackling scream had dwindled to a horrific moaning. The Giant Cat then spit out the Smear Witch, from the Nillian void, and in doing so threw her disintegrating bundle of hate, chaos, and violence past the fledgling, into the Nillian void from whence she came and she now returned to....in a cloud of stinking black dust that disappated quickly. Simultaneously reaching with her tail to the fledgling her paws gently seized the contraption of doom that held her offspring, freed her, and in one paw swipe destroyed the guillotine. The Black Kit turned her head toward the Nillian void and mewed in warning and fear. The fledgling was gaining a bit of footing, when the slender land, beneath his talons, crumbled away and he began his fall into the Nillian Void!

Suddenly The Black Dot's Dam stood on her rear feet and taking her gem between her paws began to rub it. The fledgling was starting to lose any kind of breathable air and somehow felt peace falling into nothingness; he had seen the rescue of The Black Dot and demise of the evil witch. On the gargantuan cat rubbed and started to purr, and so did The Black Dot. The tiny white fleck burst from the gem and flying outward went down and through the hole that led into the void. It spun about the fledlging and extended one end of the cocoon into a spidery, silken chord that the Giant Lynx held firmly under her mighty paw. Slowly she pulled back the cocoon, and the plain brown fledgling, within it, to safety.

Then gently, and with great love, the Gigantic mother, and her tiny daughter, began to lick and clean the cocoon from around the brave little Byrd. Once freed the small but big hearted flier was dazed and disoriented. Then he saw the giant Lynx and nearly passed out! But her demeanor was soft. Her purr was prounounced and she gently nuzzled the Byrd. Then taking her right paw she removed the fabulous necklace, and it's amazing blue stone, and a tiny fleck of white zipped up, out of the Nillan void, and into it's center. Then taking it between her claws she cracked it like an egg, and fluid, viscous, like an egg, it's blue contents dripped down over the fledgling. The Black Dot nuzzled the fledgling, with love, leaving her scent, and then oh so very gently, claws in, stroked his head with gentle thanks. Then somehow, wings sprang from the back of the Black Dot's Dam! She siezed the Black Dot by her scruff and started to wing toward the opening. She paused in mid flight, wings working for an instant, and her magick jewel necklace shot out a beam of blue light. Wrapping her tail around the ooze coverd Byrd she pulled him along with them out of the opening. The blue light struck the cave and expanded. The fledgling was released. The Expanding blue light in the cave was producing amazing and growing clouds of mist. The fledgling felt odd and knew some change was occurring to him but had no fear. His metamorphisis felt good and right. Then the Lynx, and his beloved little friend, flew high off into the sky and were gone. The cloud of mist was growing and pouring out of the cave over the fledgling onto the battle field. The fighting ceased as it's wave continued. The nefarious ones of the night were banished to the nether regions from whence they came; the mischevious, but not harmful, and friendly beings, along with their human counterparts ceased fighting and all returned home. The wave of blue vapor continued to grow until it engulfed the entire world.

High above the newborn world, an odd blue avian, flew. He glided on new found thermals of magicked air.
The land was transformed! It was bound with spells now...but not spells of evil, or spells of hate, but spells of goodness and love.
Soaring aloft the odd Byrd, thought, as he looked down through the thinning clouds of mist, "What a land of mist and vapor!
Wait...a vape Earth? No....no...NO! Our new found home of Peace and serenity. A haven for any in need of refuge, care, healing, or help.
Vapeland! Yes...that was it! VAPELAND! Viva Vapeland! CAW!

Indeed a wonderful story, Jah and a wonderful plaque and standard for our Yardbyrd.

Bravo, Jah. BRAVO!!!

A swirling bluish white, vaporous, puffy, suddenly wispy, then thick, cloud is swirling before your eyes. It shifts, swirls, whirls, and then twirls, and YardByrd comes flying out of it. His ever faithful Realm traveling perch rises in the far western desert. But you can see him so clearly! A back drop of tremendous rock outcropping, brown, beige, black, and golden is steeped in the waning sun. He lights on it and his platinum YB medallion starts glowing a gorgeous, deep, but not too deep, shade of blue. You can hear a deep, smooth, male, Latin voice, translating for him:

"Hail, lauds and greetings Vapelandians! I just had to stop in to see if my new present, which I have tried to use in my signature is working properly. I thank you, so much, Jah, for this gorgeous work of art and gift. I sense that others love it as much as I do! Ms. morri! My wishes for a very happy anniversary, and many, many more to come for you!

I must remark, to you all, that as someone who is a border-line spirit writer, if not an out right one, that my "Howl-O-Ween" present to you all almost wrote itself. I wonder if there is such a thing as spirit storytelling? Regardless, I still prefer my Monkey bestowed title "Wordsmith of the Order of the White Rabbit". It was odd...I started dictating it to James and it just seemed to pour out on its own. How, why, or where the idea came from I leave to those of you, like me, who still believe in the wondrous power of imagination and energies, mysteries, and influences, seen and unseen, that touch us all in our everday lives. It did spring from my desire to create a Halloween story for you.

I thank you all, most sincerely, for your posts in this thread and for this thread itself. I feel that it is unique. Unique as we all are or can be. So...I wax philosophical..." (OH NOOOOO! Not YardByrd! obvious Byrd snickering is heard, but it is happy)

So, my dear brothers and sisters, I leave once again, to travel the Realms. Perhaps I may find other interesting stories, or receive some hidden, idea, image, or thought, that will embolden me enough to craft more tales for myself and for you." YardByrd is getting a bit transparent looking, slight curls, of blue vapor are beginning to appear from him.

"Alas, it is time for me to take flight. Peace be with you all."

The bluish curls are turning into bluish white plumes as YardByrd dematerializes. His Realm traveling perch buries itself easily in the white sand of the desert floor. A smokey, steamy looking cloud has formed and begins to swirl and twirl. It forms a circle that spins and as the edges of it retract and it fades you see a piece of paper left in it's wake and hear in your mind and ears his farewell, "Viva La Vapeland! Viva La Vita Vapeland! Viva Vapeland!"

Oh such a glorious night! I've spent a few hours with my little darlings for the first treat! I received my package from the 15th and the 22nd tonight (the post office doesn't deliver here so if I am going to drive an hour to get my mail I should at least see my babies!) as well as my new IBTanked tank. Such a difficult decision, what to put in that new (and I must say so pretty) tank... I finally settled on BLC and it is divine!

My darling little Bella (4 years old) loves to help me go through my vapemail! With 6 members of the family who insist they don't know what to do, I order for all of us and then when the packages come they tend to be large and interesting between everyone's batteries, clearos and other odd assorted items. When I buy an assortment of colors, flavors, etc. Bella likes to hand them out to each person. She loves to share everything and will give you anything she has. We let her select who gets what color and such so she is very fond of vapemail.

She didn't get to open the first package in September as Poppa opened it while I was away. When I broke the seal on the box she was as excited as I was and every discovery thrilled her more. Most of all, she enjoyed looking at the charms on each bottle and had to have the name to go with each! She is so cute when she does that! Bella was pleased to know there would be lots of packages coming from "Wonderland" in the future. If you think it is awesome opening a package from Vapeland, you should see the pleasure in the eyes of a 4 year old when she gets to share all the beauty in that magical little box!!!
