So true! Tulsa drivers have an interesting concept of "safety"

Indeed! My mom's girlfriend recently had to have her wrist put back together after someone turned in front of her while she was riding her scooter. We were all saying "thank God you're ok!" She said "thank God I wasn't on my motorcycle!"

JohnWillyson, you guys should try fostering, it's very rewarding and even if you "fail" it's still a win..ask me how I know, ;)

Welcome to the fam sweets.

Interesting correlation, I see many similarities between the aiv fam and my edmfam. Soo much love and just the feeling that you instantly belong no matter where you come from, who you are, how mad you are. Its really...cool. I can't think of the perfect word for it to be honest. It is what it is. I know I'm new here but thank you for making me (and everyone else from what I've seen) feel apart of something

p.s. (im looking at festivals i want to do this year while listening to sets from tomorrowworld last year. this isnt soo random. lol)

Rolls up in bubble wrap and charmin and dives headfirst into vapeland, aiming for the beanbag pile.
Hi everyone! I'm Sweets! (Or pickles, or hey lady, I answer to them all)
Welcome PickledSweets!!
I might just call you Pickles since that is one of my favorite words. Just fun to say.
Glad you noticed what a loving, gushy bunch we are and decided to dive in. I'm new here too, but realized right away that this is the place to be.

What a beauty!! I could never foster, I'd never be able to let them go!
Me too!!! I have always been a dog lover, and have had my odd little rescue pup for almost 9 years. Never thought about having a cat. THen a few summers ago, this emaciated little kitty showed up on my back porch and refused to leave. I tried to resist feeding her…waited about 5 days before I gave in, but she kept leaving little pieces of forest critters on my steps and rubbing up on everything and everyone including the dog, and I realized she wasn't going anywhere. Of course, now I'm a cat lover too, and so is the pup. I'm having A Quiet Morning right now, with the two of them curled up in a little pile next to me. Ahhh…..

Have a great day everyone! XO

Thats exactly why we haven't done it, we wouldn't be a foster home. They would never leave! They are our children, we can't have kids :(

I could never let them go either, but I can't stand the thought of an animal being mistreated. They give so much unconditional love....no strings attached. All they want is to be loved back...who could say no to that? I know this may sound cynical, but I have to be honest.....as an Anthropologist who's gotten older (and hopefully wiser).....when I see how the social order of things has become and try to understand all the uncaring, uncompassionate, selfish and cruel attitudes of people throughout the world that seems to have grown stronger over the last decade or so, I have to tell myself.......the more I learn about people...the more I like animals..... However, I would like to say this....it is truly my pleasure...sincerely....to be a part of this family and be among such wonderful, caring people. I look forward to coming to this thread and just being among you all. This is truly a special place:), and I am honored to be considered part of it, for here...I find peace. And by the way........GOOD MORNING VAPELAND!!!!! Be well my friends!!:toast:

Very true and well said! It's interesting from social structures standpoints how we find each other and form supportive clans in this age of technology. As a teacher of ceramics I feel my first job is to create a happy, loving, fun environment for the students who then may learn about pottery as well. My students are always saying how important that is to them...oh, and the ceramics. It's too bad we can't have more people seeing their part as an active supportive and loving member of society.

And good morning to you and all of Vapeland!! :D

Oh Paleo…I get it!!! I feel exactly the same. I'm often angry at the world, but look for opportunities to find goodness in others, and that's why I like it here!

And good morning to you and all of Vapeland!! :D

Well said Megan! Studies have shown that people of like mind and beliefs tend to gravitate toward one another to form social groups. It can be extrapolated back to times when people formed groups for protection and survival. The definition of culture is a way of life of a group of people--their behaviors, beliefs, values. People of similar beliefs and values will form groups with each other...thus a culture is formed. In my humble opinion...what we have done here is formed the culture of Vapeland!!:) Alot of caring, like-minded people who have come together in support of each other...how cool is that?:toast: What a wonderful place to be...because unlike other cultures....WE GET THE BEST JUICE AROUND!!!!
