@have2p good looks on this thread. Good job on the aliens too, they look great.
One thing one could use instead of paper clips is masking tape. I rip off a piece of 1/4" & again rip that in half to make it 1/8" in size & tape up 3 parts of the cores. The drill end, the middle, & the end right before going into the swivels. I'm holding tension on the wires when putting tape on & sliding it up towards the swivel end once my wrap reaches the middle.
As for the wrap, I always under stretch & hold consistent tension on it. I won't do the whole length at once, rather I'll do the wrap in bursts to reposition my hand while still holding the same amount of tension on the wrap.
That micro chuck looks like something I'd buy immediately. Where'd you purchase yours? Can you take a pic of the chuck itself?

@Tom Forde thank you for the tips, I will give it a try on my next coil!

I bought both of mine off amazon, I had originally linked them but the links were removed. If you search micro drill chuck you should see the one in the picture in the post, "Mini Drill Chuck 1/4" Hex Shank for Micro Drill Bits" from CML supply. I also bought "Gyros 45-01801 Mini Adaptor Chuck, 0-Inch to 039-Inch Capacity". They both work equally well. This is the CML supply chuck fully open: Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet
And this is it holding 3 26gauge wires:

The only downside that I've noticed in using them is its hard to slip your wrapping wire in the teeth without messing up your cores, I've gotten into the habit of getting my cores exactly how I want them and losening the actual drill chuck a bit and slipping the wire between it and the mini chuck and tightening it down.
