After going through heads every 3-7 days, flooding, gurgling and getting mouthfuls of e-liquid for the past month, I'm pretty much done with the Aspire BDC. I almost threw it at the wall this morning while trying to get my AM nicotine fix.

Does a tank exist that gives a good vape, isn't temperamental, is reliable and doesn't go through $2 heads every 5 minutes? I just want to get a good, reliable tank without all the damn hassle.

I also have a vision vivi nova that is reliable and the heads last forever but the vapor production is less than satisfactory.

Any suggestions as to what to get next would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using the glass Vivi Nova version. I've had issues with the heads since day one but put up with it due to the taste and vapor production that they produce. Just lately I've started to have gurgling/flooding issues to the point that I don't even want to use it. Getting my tongue coated with e-liquid first thing in the morning isn't on my to do list, lol.

This is usually from poor air flow. If your tank sits too tight against your mod, the draw is too hard and pulls too much juice into the atomizer. I fixed temporarily by using a 510 adaptor to raise the tank and give some clearance. I have an airflow adaptor on my wish list right now. I use the exact same coils in my Aspire ET-S with the ego threading and they're flawless, so it's definitely the air flow.

That is a good point. What I do with my 510 devices is screw them down to the point that they touch the battery pin enough to give a reading. Then I screw the beauty ring up and snug it against the bottom of the clearo.

Worth a shot before throwing in the towel.

I use a Vamo V5 battery with an air flow controller on the most open setting so I'm pretty sure it's not air flow unless there's too much and I'm hitting it too hard.

i have not had an issue with my Aspire BDC yet. the original burner lasted a month, then i changed it out. i only have one and it is used for Boba's bounty exclusively. the rest (10) are Kanger T3s which i have not had a single problem with and have only changed out one head in months. YMMV

You are very fortunate :)

I have had the same issues with the Aspire BDC tanks I have (two ET-Ss and a mini Vivi Nova-s) - they started out awesome, but quickly went downhill for no apparent reason (and yes, the coils do seem to gunk up very fast, and dry burning is doable - and extremely helpful - but tricky). I haven't had a head last more than a couple days before crapping out. I feel like I've tried everything, but can't get them to perform consistently. I don't know how everyone else is getting such great performance from them…

I'll probably get flamed for this, but my mini Pro2s (and now, Pro3s) have never once given me an issue, even with stock builds. And they are SO much easier to maintain. They are the only clearos I feel like I can recommend…YMMV.

Are you sure the o-rings are good? I did find one missing from a atomizer once.

I'm in the same dilemma.. I love how the aspires start out on my provari. But a few days later, some times a few hours, Im turning up the voltage and wishing for more vapor. That combined with how Iv lost three.. I'm wondering if there's something better yet..

Read my blog on tips for anything that might catch your eye.

Bottom coil tanks are like a moonshine still, they condense liquid and gravity drains it down into the coil. If you use one a couple of days (2-5ml?) and keep refilling it, that thin liquid will start leaking out the bottom. I blow mine from the top into a paper towel when I hear gurgle. With the drip tip types, I pull the tip and q-tip the well.

I never dry burn.

I have no issues with the new Mini Protank 3, which is dual coil built on the same basic EVOD design. Blows beautiful clouds… :)

And with my Aspire BDCs, it's not a matter of occasional condensation anymore (plus, I boil/clean them after every fill). I can do a thorough cleaning, throw it all back together, tighten everything down as much as possible, and BOOM - gurgle, gurgle, leak. They even leak if I leave them sitting overnight, something my Kangers have *never* done.

They didn't start that way. I'm wondering if the fact that the chimney doesn't actually lock into the head (they seem to sort of just touch each other lightly?) means that something got crooked somewhere? When I peer into the tank, it does kinda *look* like the chimney is a tiny bit off-kilter, but it's hard to see clearly. I also wonder if one of the rings is failing and allowing air into the tank when assembled. Seems like it is a definite vacuum failure or something.

Kind of a bummer, 'cause I really did love them when I first got them...

Yeah mine just started doing the whole gurgling/leaking thing recently. I hope this next one lasts until I can use up all of the spare heads I bought.

There's a new B&M right down the street from me, I may go in there to see what they have.

I had nothing but trouble with BCC tanks gurgling and flooding, so I used a Vivi Nova for a long time, (dry hits & poor wicking).

Don't care for BDC tanks as they are quite hard to rebuild, (single coils are enough trouble for me, thank you).

Got an Anyvape Davide Glassomizer and still had issues with stock atomizers (same as Protank 2) so...

Started rebuilding my BCC heads with microcoils and organic cotton balls from Wallgreen's.
Still had issues with gurgling & flooding, or dry hits & poor wicking.
Took a lot of fiddling but finally discovered my problem, twisting up the cotton wick to make it fit in the coil.
NOTE: Stop twisting your wicks, lol.
I just twist the very end enough to get it through the coil, and cut it off later.
Tricky to get the correct amount to use, maybe 1/4" wide, and very flat (thin).
Then I compress it to round shape, (without twisting).
It will kinda bunch up some when pulling through the coil, may need to make smaller, but not too loose.
The ends sticking out of the slots in the head should be REALLY FLUFFY, if not, try to fluff them up a bit.
My coils are wrapped around a large paperclip (2mm?), which I stick down in the crack and secure with silicon top cap from Vivi Nova head, to keep it stable while I finish the bottom wires.
I heat the coil first with torch and tweezers to compress it first tho.

Now my Anyvape Davide works perfect, no gurgles, dry hits, or flooding.
I can empty my tank till it's dry...
Ordered another one, I liked it so much.
Even tried it on my Vivi Nova, and it works much better now.
Also ordered a couple of Kanger Air flow controllers for PT2, they fit the Davide also.
Keeps the drippings off your mod, and gives adjustable air flow.

Good Luck and don't give up...
