I've seen threads that are close to my problem but they aren't the same. No matter what color juice or brand juice I put in my tank, my juice turns a nasty dark brown from even a clear juice in 30 minutes or so, (sometimes minutes) and it starts to taste bad. just makes me sick after awhile.
So I tried changing the coil twice and washed my Herekles twice also bcus there was brown juice under the coil, took the whole tank apart washed it thoroughly. Maybe it's a rust issue but I don't know where it would be. Has anyone fixed this type of problem. next month I'll get myself a new tank for my Bday but hopefully I can find a solution for the moment because it's got to be harmful. I've had this tank sink my last birthday, actually. So Has anyone had this problem with any tank and fixed it. Please! let me know, thanks.

Your sig says 2014
Have you been Vaping all this time?
Have you had this issue all this time?

If no - Back up and Punt. Something you are doing, you used to NOT DO.
Poor building
Excessive Heat
Over Flavored liquids

There is a Reason and you have the answer in hand. We can only speculate.

I've had tanks that turned my juice slightly dark by the end of the tank and worse after a few tankfulls of juice. I don't consider that 'nasty' though some folks do and it didn't change the flavor of my vape or made me in any way sick. In my tanks which did that I thought it was a backwash of gunk from the wicks, but that's my opinion only. I have never had this happen from burning juice as I fix whatever is causing burnt hits before continuing to vape.

IMO if your juice is going dark brown in 30 min or less and making you sick, there's a problem and I would stop using that tank until I figured things out.

A bit more info would help. Is this the first tank you have tried? If not, what else have you used and what was your experience with them? Which heads are you using and how many watts are you using them at? Have you got the air flow opened up appropriately for the watts you're setting? The more you tell us the better we will be able to help :)

sounds like you are putting too much power to the coil and you are burning it resulting in brown juice...the nasty taste is your coil.

Whats the ohm reading on your coil and how many watts are you pushing through it?

Thank you for your reply. I don't build anymore. I buy .06 coils for my Herakles v1 tank. It's a year old now in june. And I bought it from a good shop in California so I doubt it's a fake a anything, it's been fine before. Been vaping 3 years. This is just crazy and it's really putting a damper on my vaping experience. So I thought the sane thing as you do I don't go above 35 watts now, (ussually I'm 50) and i know my pins messed up, it reads 31.7 watts 4.4V .06ohms just put new Batts in. Do u think it could be the pin? Sometimes the vaults jump around, but that's when I have to 1st have to screw a new coil in, a have to wipe the pin off really good each time and put it back in for some reason. I just need a new tank. But this still shouldn't happen.

Thanks for ur reply. The more I think about it I just know this tank is just done. It leaks all the time, and it's almost black looking. And it just is a problem. Going to get a tank asap. Can only vape at 35 watts and under right now bcus of the flavor. Been vaping 3 years and never had this problem either. I wonder if washing the tank with vinegar would help... maybe. Or people talk about oxidization... can that be something that could be happening with my pin? It gives me a lot of problems.

I am really confused as to this "Pin" you keep talking about.

What exactly is this "Pin" ?

Got a photo of the "Pin" ?

BTW ... I have never heard of e-juice in an atomizer turning dark brown in just 30 minutes after installing a new coil.

Honestly, it sounds like you have no idea how to take things apart and properly clean and inspect them for any needed attention/repair.
Best to purchase several to last you a while as each fails.

What part of it is 'almost black looking'?

Where does it leak from?

And it just is a problem. Going to get a tank asap. Can only vape at 35 watts and under right now bcus of the flavor. Been vaping 3 years and never had this problem either.

What's wrong with the flavor? Is it giving you burnt hits or is the juice flavor just off?

Are you referring to the 510 pin at the bottom of the tank or another pin? What problems does it give you? If you don't give us clear details so we understand what's going on, it's pretty much impossible to help you.

For the most part my tanks don't need cleaning. I use rebuildable tanks though and I do rinse off the decks with water every time I dry burn the coils and re-wick. I have let tanks sit for a year or two with juice in them and then I do a good clean before using one again. I take the whole thing apart as far as possible and wash the parts in warm water using a clean toothbrush mostly. If there is any rust or stubborn juice gunk on a metal surface I use a brass bristle brush to get it off. After I'm done they pretty much look like new again :)

Electrical contact surfaces are different. If I see oxidation on a 510 pin or threads I get rid of it when I notice it. How I do it depends on what material it is. Copper and brass are very soft and need a delicate touch while stainless steel or hard plating will handle fine sandpaper used a bit more aggressively quite well. The same applies to mod and battery contact surfaces. All electrical connections need to be clean enough of oxidation and 'crud' to function well.

I have to agree with everyone else on this about the tank needing taken apart and given a good cleaning. I would also replace the O Rings to stop the leaking issue. It sounds to me like your device may be underpowering your atomizer to cause the dark juice. It could not be heating enough to keep your juice from separating. Do you have another device you could put your tank on?
