Hello fellow vapers. I'm just wondering if anyone has some insight on an issue I am having.

A couple times a day i need to pop off my drip tip on my tank and take a q-tip and swab out the liquid that has built up between the drip tip and rubber (silicone?) washer that sits atop of the cartomizer fill. Over time the liquid has started to turn a light amber or brown color.

I have only had one flavor in the carto (a diy flavor) and it is a very clear liquid with over time turns a slight tint of greenish/yellow (very slight color if at all).

After seeing the color appear under the drip time i then blow through the carto as if it were flooded (with lips on the 510 connection end) and blow out a nasty brown looking liquid.

Does anyone have an idea where the brown is coming from? Does it have to do with the coil maybee? I haven't burnt out a carto yet and have yet to see the end life of one.. The carto seems to be hitting just fine. I did punch another hole in it and it is a bit on the large side....Im guessing i have put about only 20-30 ml through it.

Thanks for any help!

That's a combo of condensation and some e-juice getting up in there. ejuice will change color because of exposure to heat & oxygen and it will also caramelize on the coil & wick like resin in a old hippies ..... What you're seeing (color-wise) is normal. If you are getting a ton on that o-ring seal & in your mouth, you may have punched your cart more than you should've/punch holes too big etc.

Might be time to boil your carto possibly? I would think that after 30ml's or more the coil in there would be kinda gummed up by now.

I do clean my cartos when my juice turns dark. I live in Florida where metals corrode at warp speed. I wonder if it is the kanthal corroding. Was thinking it was the tube on my cheap cartos I am trying to use up, but I get that metallic taste with my Vivi Nova. But I do notice that the bottom disk part of my Nova is looking a bit mottled. Who knows.

Ahhhhhhh Swampey! I see you are in God's waiting room too!:toast:

It may be a good idea to save those little silica packets that come with purses, shoes, etc and throw them in my vape box!

I toss the silicone washer. I think that liquid in the drip tip is mostly condensation. I get that too with some drip tips, but not others. I think some just allow more travel up to our mouths.

I get the same dark, nasty juice coming out when I blow out the carto. I think it's burnt juice from the heat of the coil. The same stuff that in a clearo you can easily get rid of with a flush and a dry burn. I find once this starts happening the carto will soon start to draw harder and then it's toast unless you want to clean it. I put 'dirty' juices in clearos (VN's) because I can clean them easily and many times.
