All I Want To Talk about is E-Cigarettes, but I think some of my friends and family might now want to talk about it as much as I. Even my boyfriend I live with is still smoking analogs. How can these people not totally interested to the point of obsessionwith this as I am? Why aren't they ordering their starter pack this instant? (these of course, are more reteorical questions) I'd probably say only 1 out 10 (if that) smokers seem highly interested in this. It's a miracle I am not smoking, A MIRACLE! I never thought I could do it. That's why I come here, b/c I can talk about it all I want with people who love e-smoking as much as I do. I love this place and find great comfort here.

I think it boils down to folks just want to dance with the devil they know, rather than the one they don't. (I read this quote on another thread).

I've found that most people are more receptive after a few drinks, IE - parties and such...

Yes, that's what I think I'm doing is pushing too hard. I can't help myself either.

I know what you mean when you say it's a miracle because my husband and I feel the same way.

As for other smokers...well they may change their minds when they see what it has done for you...just keep setting the example.

Oh, and congrads on the no smoking Nadia!

Thanks Tee, I'm already starting to enjoy not having smokers cough!

I just want you all to know I really love you. I know, I know, kinda weird, but it brings me so much joy and laughter when I get instant replies with people relating to how I feel. It makes me realize I am not alone in this.

Rock on Nad. :thumb:

I've been out for a beer or 2 with a friend tonight, took the e cigs with me of course and a selcton of carts so friend could try. He loved it, going to email him a link to forum and a place he can pick up a nice 901.

Another friend, a more mature gentleman, tried the supercig but he caught a bit of liquid in the mouth. He then decided it was too high tech for him and he'd stick to his rolly's.

Well, maybe 1 will give it a whirl and 1 may have given up after I explained about the learning curve.

Me myself? They keep saying "it's the best thing since sliced bread". But what was it?

I'm going to order my wicked plati :thumb:

If you shove the idea of e smoking at a smoker, it really becomes much like the ex smoker who constantly tells others what they should do. It is not enough that he is proud of quitting smoking. He must also lecture those who are still smoking. So, while e smoking is a miracle for you and for others, don't expect those who are not interested to jump on the wagon. Tell them about it. Show them how it works, and then just let it go. Enjoy your e cig, but don't expect everyone to have the same obsession that you have.

Don't give up on them, but you can't push them either. I gave up my analogs 3 months ago and have never looked back. Just keep with your e-cig, eventually they will wonder how/why you do it. BTW, we are coming to fl. on the 25th, going to Sanibel Island for a week. It's 8 degrees here, I can't wait to hit the beaches.

sherid -

good advice indeed. didn't mean to come across as quite that obsessive. if a friend inquires what the heck i'm smoking i let them know what it is and if they are still curious i explain more - not so much a shove down your throat technique. I wouldn't push these on anyone who didn't show a high interest. i only meant that sarcastically. i hate that you can't hear sarcasm over the internet.

Well, I guess the only person who hasnt showed much interest that I've been pushing it on is my mom. Other than her, I havent really pushed it on anyone. She had cancer, is in horrible health (blood pressure, circulation - her feet are nearly about to be cut off) and she has a horrible smoker cough that makes me gag. It saddens me she just doesn't want to try this. She didn't sound thrilled when I first explained it to her over the phone and she wasn't too thrilled when I showed it to her. I wanted to give her the starter kit DSE901 for x-mas, but she doesnt want it. I won't push her anymore.

I lost both my mother and father in-law to smoking a few years ago. Both were on oxygen towards the end... My mother died suddenly in 1996 from a pulmonary embolism (blood clot), and my dad is now 89 Years old, and in assisted living for the past 7 years. He's now on oxygen too, and going down hill fast.

I feel ya....

Sorry to hear about your Mum Nad. It's difficult when you feel you can help someone but they feel they're not ready yet. I've bought a couple for friends but tried not to push it as a "stop smoking" device. I've said that it may help them to cut down. It seems to have worked but only time will tell.

On a separate note I have have my obsession with "How it works" learnt off by heart... This is the battery, this is the atomiser, this is the cartridge... blah blah blah...

:)

Not sure about your people, but here, my old man is lucky to get the microwave to work, let alone an E-cig, he says he will try it one day, but who knows if he ever will, let alone switch.
My brother isnt much better, hes about as tech savvy as SuziQ's mouse guest.
He can use a screw driver, but only the kind that tightens little metal things :p

These new fangled thingys, back in my day, we had to walk 4 miles uphill both ways if we wanted a smoke :p

I agree, I only started E-smoking last week, and it has been a great week actually. To be quite honest I was in the the same boat. I never thought I would quit smoking, I mean i always Told myself I could if i wanted but we all know thats just talking out your @$$. I really enjoy my e cig, even tho its a ****ty off brand model its still wonderful. I talk about it all day long. Hence why I am here now too. I just wanna share my story and hear everyones stories too.

I agree with you totally. I can't understand why this miracle isn't more popular. It seems like the answer for all the smokers out there who want an alternative. I have been smoke free since April. My first Christmas in 45 years smoke free - incredible. I don't push it on my friends or relatives, I learned when I first started they don't want to hear it unless they too want a change. So now I just smoke it and those who want to know come and ask. I do talk to every pub owner that I can to spread the word, so when Michigan goes smokeless they know there is an alternative out there for their customers. That's all we can do. Good going Nadia, and welcome to the e-cig world.
