so....i am out with my son today and my phoenix popped the coil.... i was about a minute from the mall so i figured i would stop in and buy a new atty.... i arrive at the kiosk and ask the guy if he has any 306's ..... he looks at me bewildered.... i am thinking ....well maybe he is a new vaper as well so i proceed to tell him what a 306 is.... he says "oh, an atomizer. yeah we have those." pulls out a 510 atty and a 510 carto.... he then proceeds to tell me how many they sell, how great they are and how long he has been vaping and such.... so getting tired of his unintelligible spiel i steer the conversation to its end by saying "i ll just take the atty"....well...he is ringing me up and i am thinking to myself ....i am almost out of there when he turns to me and with a straight face says that will be 28.47.... i said...oh, i am sorry i only want one... he said ......that is for one.... i didnt know what to say.... i just kind of stood there and threw the slow blink on him.... really .... pause.... yes he said.... are you sure thats right.... yes he said.... slow blink again.... i asked him if it was a special atty or something.... he replied that they had a special resistance that allowed for a better smoke feeling ( i swear).... i slow blink again.... i said to the guy.... look dude i can understand paying a premium.... but really .... i can probably pick up 5 attys for that much.... he started to say something but i had already moved out of earshot.... arrrrrrrrgh

It's those kind of kiosk and prices that stop most people from vaping. They make it so it's cheaper to just smoke and most people won't buy from them twice. It's a same because vaping could potentially save lives. Glad you walked out and didn't give them the satisfaction, or the business!

I have a friend that regularly buys all her cartos and juice from the mall kiosk. I don't know what she pays for cartos but she pays like $25 for 10ml of juice and I am pretty sure the juice is just some rebottled Dekang that goes for $10 for 50ml. I have tried to tell her to buy online but she doesn't listen. She says she would rather buy it in person.

I have thought about trying to open my own kiosk and put it right next to the scammers at the mall just to put them out of business.

While I feel it's a plain old bad idea to open up ANY type of kiosk at a mall I would suggest BEFORE you do that you investigate how much it costs to rent a kiosk in a prime location at a local mall. Don't forget to also ask about all the extra fee's involved too, like mall maintenance fee's insurance fee's etc.

MANY of those kiosk business owners actually make no money and many of them actually end up folding up in a relatively short period of time after opening due to this fact.

I am not justifying why ANYONE should pay 28.47 for a common atty at the mall I am simply pointing out that those high prices they charge at those kiosk's might be a rip off but the kiosk owners are charging that type of money because if they didn't they would be out of business the first time their mall fee's came due.

You would change your mind when you got the rent bill.

I live in a small town that has one of the major players (electronicstix.com) with a brick and mortar just 5 minutes from my house.
So opening a kiosk here wouldn't be what you would call a good business decision.
The only problem I have with a brick and mortar so close is 'how do you not walk out of a candy store with more than what you went in for'! The other day I stopped by for A bottle of juice, and walked out with 6.

The kiosk at our local mall was selling eGo-T starter kits with clearomizers for $250 bucks.

    I kid you not.

That's just wrong, on every level.

yeah i have seen that too... i work in the biggest mall in florida and there are 2 vape kiosk there, selling ....ty 808 stick kits for 200+ but in there defense they are mainly selling to toruist, most of the locals here go to the vapin place a local b&m or order online. but they have no idea what atties are, or even bottles of juice as its all pre-filled cartos.

Is the rent really that expensive for a kiosk station? How do the hippies stay in business at their kiosk selling hemp necklaces for $10? It is more expensive than the rent for a B&M building in a shopping center with electric bills?

I am not disagreeing. I am just curios because I have no idea.

I have a bunch of used cartos that you can clean and put back into service. A steal at 9.99 each! I'll even pay shipping :p

edit: I'm just being sarcastic. Don't PM me for this awesome deal - the guys at the mall will find out and firebomb my house.

Rent + employees + insurance + need for profit (No point running business if you're just breaking even).

Hippies manage to stay because the cost is only 10$, something you can wander by and go "Oh that'd be nice" and not really blink at paying, and their product has a much higher mark up compared to ecigs.

You have to find 10 people a month willing to dump 250$ on a fake cigarette, when patches/gum/etc are much cheaper options to someone off the street. Regardless, fools and money mumble mumble mumble.

Good point. I guess selling one of those eGo kits is like a car salesman selling a car.
