Just finished reading all 22 pages. I am so impressed!! Finally someone has come up with a better atty design, and creative as well. True works of art. Although after seeing the excitement of Gummy Bear and a few others, including myself, Im sure someone will have a working Genesis well before you get back from your trip to write a part 2.

yea it sounds like its really good.....now we need video to prove it wicks properly and wicks the tank dry...

I'd say that if you don't have a small lathe, then your going to need a lot of files. :?:
The alum. caps (top and bottom) will be the tricky part. You'll be shooting for a leak proof seal between the top/bottom plug and the acrylic tank tube.
You will also need drilling and taps for cutting threads to what ever size screws that you use. But that is going to be the easy part. I have down to 3mm taps but if I need smaller they are cheap. And if I could only find a 7mm x .5 die I'd be happy(-er),,,,,, (yea you know where I'm going with that).

Edit:
I'm sure that there are ways to make a cap that seals that may not require machine shop skills. If your clever.

Thanks, I was figuring I would need a lathe... I may be able to get a machinist to do the work if I can give them specifics.

I can be clever but this would test that ability ten fold..lol..

I commented earlier, but would like to say thank you for sharing your knowledge with us all. I live outside of Heidelberg and would love to check out your mods sometime when you return from your trip. Maybe I could do a little write up on here from an american's perspective of your mods. Thanks again and can't wait for part 2.

To all readers of this thread

Dear modders,
I am very pleased that you liked my mods and are taking part so vividly of my thread. This is part 1. Actually I wanted to just once give an overview of my work. In Part 2 I wanted to go into the details. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to your active participation. However, I am from Nov. 10th for about 3-4 weeks on vacation. After the vacation time we go into the "Canned."

One question I have: Who reads all this thread and has not yet spoken up? Just give me a short hello please!:)

Oh god, my english (but i try to learn it better from post to post)!

one more picture?

Hallo,

Karen
PS: Deutsch schreiben faellt mir nach so vielen Jahren in der USA ein bischen schwer, also mache Dir ueber Dein English keine Gedanken!

WOW, what a responce, i'm impressed! I couldn't believe having so much fans here:oops:

Raidy - to continue from my last post. I realise the air tube doesn't have to go up the centre (and possibly spoil the capillary action of the mesh wick), it can go up the side. Also - the air tube is only necessary for vapers who like 'auto' batteries (like me :) ). Manual batteries can simply have a small hole in the mouthpiece (as your models have) with no air tube at all.

Do you think my modded E2 genesis would work? As shown on my new drawing...

WOW! That schould work i believe.

And some more ideas for you:

Raidy.... Your gonna have to start shipping them to us over here...:) I don't think you realize how well they will sell it's EXACTLY what most of us are looking for you should check out another thread on this site where all of us are trying to come up with the ultimate carto.... If u could incorporate the e2 cartomizer in this idea it might b possible for us "DIY'S" to make Something similar ;)

Like I always read the German forum. I'm a developer and modder, and it should stay this way. I do not produce and sell, never. I present my ideas for private use in the forums. And so it should stay. I have no financial interest in this development.

:)I earned my money already :) There is enough money for the lawyer, in case it is building a illegal business!!

raidy - I read through this thread with MUCH interest and my jaw almost dropped in wonderment. I especially got a big kick out of your Bic lighter mod - LOL

Needless to say most of us don't have the know-how or equipment to build much of this stuff but just the Genesis atty alone using Kanthal and the steel mesh for wicking (oxidized as you have prescribed) hold much promise for those of us who are trying to mod the E2 R4 cartos. With the capillary action properties of the steel mesh working as well as you describe you really do have an auto-feeding juice tank mod. I think this might be very near the holy grail of vaping.

If one switches between various e-juice in the same mod do you have any suggestions as to minimize the taste of different juices or would you simply vape away whatever was in the mesh and it would be gradually replaced with the new juice with this type of capillary action in these meshes??

Raidy,

In just five days your thread had 235 replies but also was viewed 6603 times.

I don't want to throw in my uneducated voice but let seasoned modders do a discussion.

Don't worry - you have a huge crowd of followers.

poland, and the brassy lands of google
For e2 conversion: The original genisis atty has an air hole in the side of the vaping chamber of ~1.5mm size at the level of the coil, so you don't need an air tube (sorry slopes and auto batt users, this won't help).

Also, getting everything to fit in the e2 body will be harder as there isn't much room to work in. (raidy said several times that getting this smaller was quite difficult. On a plate of about 9.5mm, less actaully, you need 4 holes to mount of varying sizes. Ok, the filler port could be done elsewhere.

I was thinking of using a 1/2" pill fob from harbor freight, as in the suckaton, upside down with a mouthpiece added. This could eliminate the need for machining with a mill, and once built it wouldn't need to be opened. Dunno though.
