I'm still new, but I have a few protanks and have used Kanger T3's as well.

The mini protank 2 (v2) seems to be the best of all of them IMO. I do not like the protank 3. It's airy, and easy to dry out. I do not get any unicorn-like magical flavor boost despite it having dual coils. All the protanks have wicking problems with thicker juices. (Unfortunately even 50/50's can be touchy in a protank for steady vaping) The T3's change the flavor on everything I've put in them. I swear I can taste the plastic or something burny. Those are by far the worst. PG juices run through them like a seive, VG juices don't wick well at all as it's the same coil / head design as all the rest. And they just generally make me unhappy.

I have an ego cone I throw on to control airflow, and a 510 atty and drip right on it. That's pretty much what the flavor is going to be. I've noticed the MPT2V2 removes the stainless steel / hot taste from the 510 atty. But dripping gives you the clearest taste once the atty gets saturated and up to temp.

I run an extremely potent menthol in a MPT2V2 as my daily grind and I can triple puff it, maybe 3-4 times and put it down. The protank wicks as it sits and the hits are all good. It never - leaks with that juice. (85/15VG) And it has been great on coil consumption. (I run between 8-10 watts)

Carto's DO work though. They may not be as fancy, but they WORK. They may not blow you out of your chair. But I have not had issues using strong juices in them to get by as a 'tool' to keep me from smoking. I also got the ST 5ml carto tank but haven't played with it. 5ml is A LOT of juice to dedicate to a tank, and I don't have a juice I want to dedicate to it yet.

In the end I pretty much agree. Clearo's are predominantly junk, annoying, or just plain a pain... but I do like the mini protank 2. It is a functioning tool, and seems to do it's job of daily grind duties with the least amount of annoyance.

I will be moving to RDA's and mechanicals however as I vape a lot more at home in my free time and these little clearo's and tanks aren't anything to write home about when trying new juices, or when trying to support two people vaping on it.

Also, pairing the right voltage, (or if you can't adjust voltage) the right resistance coils to the battery you are using is CRITICAL to tuning the set up for flavor. I'd venture to say even function. When a T3 floods, I just pop up the power and give the button a little bit of a hold before I hit it - then take easy drags and it clears straight away. When things get hot and dry - power goes back down. This is where a proper pairing of atomizer and battery voltage DO matter. Adjustable is really nice. Even if it's simply an Ego twist, spinner, winder, whatever. I use a Vision (ego) spinner as a back up and I just set it for what's on it and it's been great.

I went thru the "finding the right tank" phase also. Evod.. eehhhh, Kanger Evod...better but still eeehhh, Protank1... leaky, gurgly. Smok Bulb.. better also but still gurgled. CE8 SS much better but can gurgle if held wrong. RSST ( very nice) no gurgle, no leaks, good vapor density, great flavor, But requires making your own coils ( which is rather easy to do btw) R91C ( russian 91 clone) another good tank, love the vapor density and flavor richness, a bit tight on the draw for me, need to empty tank to rebuild coil tho...

If you are "handy" the RSST Kayfun clones the R91C type of tanks are the way to go...

A really quality clearomizer for me has been the Iclear 30s. It isn't perfect (replacement coils are more costly than some) but I have had absolutely ZERO problems with liquid delivery with mine. All but completely hassle free. I always have one with me, everywhere I go because they have been very reliable for me. This is all of course IMO.

+1 on the comments to make sure you are using proper settings with your device.

Woah. Thanks for all the help guys! I didn't expect so many to be at the rescue! My voltage is at usually between 4.8 and 6. The lowest ohm coil I have is a 1.5 I'm using Hawaiian Sunrise from Rawr Vapes...although I don't see myself using it much longer as it's an expensive flavor and more of it seems to leak out of my tanks than go into my lungs. I think my protank is the first one that came out. I'm going to look into some of the tanks you guys have recommended.

How do I know what voltage to use for the best performance?

FluidFlask with Bogue dual coil carto. Easy to fill, and flavor is outstanding. I don't pay shipping because I live near Fluid Vapors.

I... am getting by with a Protank. I clean it about once every two weeks and replace the coils every ten days.
Lots of recommendations for other juice attachments. If you try them and like them, great! If you want to keep using your Protank I have a recommendation...

Clean more often.

Every time I finish a tank, I put the used head in vodka to soak, rinse the tank, and put a fresh head in the tank. After soaking the old heads in vodka for several hours, I put them in water. After several hours in water, I let them dry. I keep about 10 heads in rotation this way, and they always taste fine and last me a long time.

All of [the tanks I've tried] have either been leaky, had dry hits, gurgly, or have produced a very small amount of vapor or flavor.
Almost all of them would probably work fine with some minor adjustments and tweaking. When you get in a car, you don't say "the seat's too far from the wheel" or "it's too hot inside" or "I can't see the lane next to me in this mirror" and then conclude that the car itself is a useless pile of junk. You adjust the seat, the thermostat, and the mirrors to fit you, to suit the weather, etc. Clearomizers can be like that. Some juices need to be vaped at a higher wattage to maximize vapor or avoid flooding, some at a lower wattage to avoid burning and improve flavor. Some juices work better with more wick, some with less. There are quick and easy adjustment solutions to most of the problems people have, you just have to be willing to try them. :thumb:

Of course, some "problems" may just be differences in juices. AVE's "Gorilla Juice" has a much more powerful throat hit than Velvet Cloud's "Mewlew's Magic" no matter how you vape them. They're both good, they're just different. If I need a hit, I go for GJ. If I don't want a hit, I go for MM. That's just juice variety.

Glad you found something that worked. I have had the same clone MT3 tank for three months, never cleaned it, change the coil about once per week, and it works GREAT! I see all kinds of folks having trouble with tanks/clearos, batteries, etc. I guess I have just been lucky as all I have bought is the eBay cheapo stuff, and everything has held up and worked just great! (knocking on wood)
