What I don't understand:
What has "a thicker set of threads, a smaller top hole, and it is slightly off round" to do with not enough liquid at the atty???

I could understand a liquid inside the mod because of different threads. Shouldn't work a Reo with any kind of bottle, as long as it fits?

Andreas

Those slight differences might alter the amount of air entering the bottle so the bottle will function when pressed and drive the juice up the tube and into the atty. In other words, air must replace the juice that travels up the tube. Some bottles might not let that happen as well.

Excellent explanation Rhap and nerak!

From what I was able to figure out, the seal was too tight on mine due to a misshapen bottle top. The narrower opening combined with thicker threads made my airflow too restricted. Hence why when I was vaping, it was like sucking a milkshake through a coffee stirrer.

I have attempted to take pics of the old bottle. If I get any that are clear enough I will post them.

Mz Nurse, I'm sorry that you had to suffer so much to provide great reading and chuckles for us. And I'm glad you found a resolution. I think your experience also provides information to be placed in the trouble shooting thread. Who would have thunk it that it was the bottle.

As I'm reading this I see that the draw was hard in addition to the juice not being able to be fed adequately. I don't get why even a totally clogged tube would cause draw issue as the air to atty and carto comes from the catchcup area and not the bottle. The air, in the bottle is in some what equilibrium with environmental air. If air supply to the atty/carto came only from the bottle one probably would get less than one full draw before juice began to enter the tube and atty/carto.

If air was allowed to enter the bottle because the seal wasn't tight enough, giving even more air to atty/carto than normal, I would expect a much airier draw and not a tighter draw.

Think about it.

Hugs, Alice

I totally understand what you are saying Alice. I do not pretend to be a Reo guru by any means......I leave that duty up to all of you awesome fellow Reonauts! :) I, too, think that this should be added to the troubleshooting of a Reo. After trying to fix every other "usual" suspect for a stiff draw on the cartos, I never imagined it would be so simple as the bottle! It still amazes me! Lol

All I know is this......faulty bottle on the Reo and the mod worked like crap. A standard issue Reo bottle from Robert = my mini vaped as perfectly as it did for the previous 8 months. I really cannot explain it as I am not a mod technical person, I am more of a plug n go vaper. I am a horrible trouble shooter with electronic/computer type of stuff. Now give me a medical problem........I can solve those! Anyways.....when examining the bottle that was involved with my horrible month of vaping, I can clearly see differences and imperfections with that bottle.

I maybe cannot completely explain the aerodynamics and technicalities of the airflow of my mini, but the fact remains that the bottle used for 1 month was junk. And once the bottle was changed, everything vaped normally again.

Wish I understood it more! I am just happy my mini vapes awesome again! :)

I almost pitched a bunch of 3ml samplers a few days ago until realizing they appeared to be the same thing used on minis. I haven't compared threading yet but they do have the same cube logo/icon and single digit number (seems to be anything between 1 and 9) on the bottom just like the ones shipped with reos. I wonder....

I have done the same thing as well. I think this could be the only, if only draw back with the Reo Mod. But easy fix. Change the guts out, or some 150 proof everclear, and some hot water can work depending on how bad. I have been trying to DIY juices and I have had so bad mishaps every now and then.

TPA has a 25 pack of 3 ml bottles for $7.25. They might be cheaper else where, but I just looked when getting my last order. I have a 25 pack of 6 ml coming myself. I found some tubing of the same inside, outside diameter at the local hardware store.Got 5 feet for a few dollars. O rings are dirt cheap at the hardware store as well. Like $1.25 for a dozen. As for the cap, the caps you get in the 25 pack can be drilled out to the right size, insert O ring, and your good.

I haven't got around to using this yet, as ever clear has done the job for me so far. But I have all these as backups if needed, and have replaced a few bottles.

The thin wall plastic bottles seem to absorb the stench more than the thinker tubing.

Some of the stuff I have mixed wouldn't go away with everclear, hot water, or nothing. So I just replace the bottle. I try and use the same bottles for the same flavors, never mixing with the others. And even to the point of having an atty dedicated to a single mix. All my problems have almost completely cleared up this way.

I have dropped the Reo on concrete probably 5 times. I love this my Reo.
